Hello all, I'm new to this forum and after a few days of lurking I've discovered this is going to be a great place to gather information, and maybe/hopefully in the near future give it as well.

I'm an eight year Fantasy player and had a decent sized Chaos army and a formidable Bretonnian army, but after a few years in the military and my dad pulling a Konrad I came home to find that a handful of my models, as well as my massive paint collection that I accrued from playing as the colorful Bretonnians had all disappeared into the abyss of craigslist...which of course I had no knowledge of.

It's been a few years since I've played and I'm still unfamiliar with 7th edition...as in I haven't even opened the new book yet, but I've gathered most of the main changes from just talking to people.

While I was away, a Games Workshop opened close to where I lived as well as my current apartment, so after a trip there I discovered something that made me wet myself. Don't shoot me, but I used to laugh at the Vampire Counts as a whole, but before me was something menacing and seductive, and after looking at all the choices and flipping through the book I was completely sold on Vampire Counts completely.

But, as with a lot of people, I'm just a poor college student, working part time and squeezing some extra funds from my GI bill but still not a lot to expand quickly. So as of now I have one army book, and a a regiment of zombies all built up, but unpainted.

So I'm hoping to build up a powerful army and use this site(and all of you) to find out where I should go and how to build up something that just makes people shudder when thinking of my endless hordes bursting from the ground to devastate their flanks.

I'm happy I found this place and I hope this is the start of something wonderful.

Welcome to CN!

We're as happy to have you as you are to have found us. This is definitely the right place to be for a batling (like fledging xd) VC player. I would recommend you download the first issue of the Invocation found here:

LINK

It has some great information in regards to the cores for new players as well as some other stuff.

Make sure you start a painting log so we can see how your models are coming along, and if you have any questions just ask.

I do plan on making a painting log...but only once I get some paint, at the moment I'm broke and its going to take me a few weeks just to gain enough paint to do this zombie regiment, since I plan on buying a unit of skellies or grave guard this weekend as well. After that, I still have to work out a color theme, since coming from Bretonnia, no theme is a good theme. Now I want something that looks like it came all from one unholy master. We'll see in time I suppose.

And thanks for the link and the welcome.

Welcome to CN! A solid unit of zombies is a must for any VC player, if not for putting them in your lists, you'll totally need them for raise dead and summon undead horde! I know I never have enough :P What way are you thinking of playing your VCs? Magic heavy, light on armour but still with some hammering grave guard? Whatever you play, don't forget the amazing stopping power of 35 zombies!

See you in the forums
