The idea of having a large unit of zombies attracted me to VC (rather than TK). If I play VC, I plan on getting a regiment of 50 zombies.

Nothing wrong with buying zombies from some other company for cheap, hell, we're in a double dip recession!!! lol

Here in Chicago don't walk into a GW store with a model that wasn't put out by GW unless you personally sculpted it out of greenstuff and plasticard. They have a zero tolerance policy and I have seen people asked to leave because of it. While this sounds harsh it makes absolute sense. Lets say you bring in the Mantic zombies and people love the models.. they ask you where you got em and how much, well anyone who was going to buy zombies that day will now go another route and get more for less money. It hurts GW's business. The big mac analogy was perfect.

I asked if I could use a reaper vampire model the other day because I only like 2 of the GW vampire models and the manager very politely took me outside and said he didn't have a problem with it, but if his manager walked in and saw me with it he could get fired. He agreed that their Lord and hero models need an update for us and sympathized with me but couldn't allow it, which I understood. So i left my reaper vampire on the edge of the table... NOT in play and bought a nobel vampire looking woman and used her on the field. He smiled and said, " You're not playing with the model so I cant say a word to ya." and then he winked at me!

Im just getting back into WHFB after playing 40k for years, i have always been a massive fan of the risen dead and have a thing for vampires. I have been toying with a crazy idea of running a couple of magic heavy vampires, maybe a necromancer or 2, a few corpse carts and then nothing but zombies, using the magic to keep up the numbers and create new units to hit the flanks of stuff thats tarpitted against my main units.
these mantic zombies mixed with gw parts will get my numbers up really well!!

so did you buy them? any pics yet? I wish the mantic website showed more then just 1 model

opps i see they dont come out till sept.

there is always this in the mean time.

Zombie, Zombie, Zombie.... Zombies!!
The mantic zombies do look really good. If you want to blend them in, mix'em with other box sets like I do (as the GW don't look very good), I find mixing them with men at arms works well. And I don't see why this wouldn't work with the mantic models.
Admittedly sometimes I see them as walking combat res for my opponents, but they always convert me when they bog down the enemy shock troops or cavalry, (occaisonally killing one or two!), for the majority of the game. And if/when they die they are easy to resurrect, or... more units!!
Always fun.... even if they seem to enjoy dying alot

ZOMBIES - Fun both ways, dead or really dead!
