Lets say a unit gets affected by soulblight. what if i move out the character in it and place him in another unit?
is that character still affected? Do i suddenly have to dispel it once or twice?

Seems to be unclear if you don't play with "special" FAQ's. :)

ETC ruling:

9.11. Q: A spell is cast at a unit with a character, who later leaves the unit. Is he still affected? What if the unit was made of characters?

A: When he leaves the unit, he ceases to be affected, except for any movement effects for the clearing move and Wither, Plague of Rust and Warpflame. Last character remaining keeps any spells.

The spell effect doesn't go with the character as far as I know. Something that affected the character moving though would be in effect as he started his move. So that ETC ruling is pretty accurate.

So we can all agree, that an enemy with CoY can simply walk out of the hexed unit and not have the curse anymore?

Sounds ridiculous but ok

LOS are only against templates, cannons (BRB pg 93). I never had complaints at least about not having it against COY.
But tournaments (at least local where I play) allow LOS against the effects of some spells though, when it's possible to destroy the character without any saves allowed, so the likes of final transmutation, purple sun, dreaded 13th, etc., but COY isn't that great of an effect when it hits.

CoY hits everything in the unit. No LOS. CoY's primary strength is removing small chunks out of armored enemy, threatening death stars and forcing your opponent to waste a turn dispelling it. CoY is a solid spell and game winning if used at the right time.

I like COY as well, always nice to throw a die for every model in a unit :). It isn't instant death for characters but it will hurt the unit, especially when it doesn't get dispelled.

I would say yes.
The character was in the unit until it got wiped out. But hey, dont take my word for it, coz in this apparent mess the answer could just as well be no
