Host of Mousillon (1500)

Greetings masters of the night,

I am a long time Bretonnian player, and love the imagery of the fall of Mousillon as a result I plan on collecting a Vampire Counts army to represent the stirrings within the doomed city.

Obviously as a result I am not looking to create a fully optimised list which isn't a great deal to me as painting a themed and coherent army is far more important.

Made some changes for your characters, i would take Red Fury it is really good, then i would take 2 lvl 1 necromancers and one with cursed book.

I dont think you should take any of those magical banners so i would remove them. Why a unit of 5 knights? and why 2 x batswarm, they are not the best choice

I thought about red fury but decided to take Dread Knight because I feel that it'd better represent the Bretonnian background, Quickblood I thought was the best of the remaining choices of what was remaining.

I like the dual Necromancers, might have to use them. I'll drop the banners, the one on the Skeletons was to make up the minimum core % but realised another 5 Skele's would be better.

The Banner of the Barrows I remember as being a lot better then it is now.

The Bat swarms I love chaff units and would like to see how well they'd play out in the same combat as the Black Knights, granting my opponent ASL

Being a Bretonnian player myself I love your project... But something is missing... why only 14 knights? I challenge your Bretonnian honour to make a list with 50% Black Knights(hurray for 8th making Special the new Core)!

I love this list... soooo awesome! I might trade the ghouls out for some skeletons, though, for a better tarpit to keep targets pinned down for all those knights. Might have to run this list...

@Malleus: This seems like a pretty solid set of choices, especially the second one. I agree that Red Fury is almost an auto-include, however. You could always just -always- accept challenges, as a personal vow, but I understand wanting to take Dread Knight for roleplaying reasons. I also agree that, having taken that, Quickblood is probably the next best choice.

Have you thought about adding a battle standard bearer? A mounted wight king perhaps?

Trying to build a similarly themed list at the moment. I've tried to replace the bret units with vc equivalents.

A fancy bsb is therefore needed for the theme to work for me.
I may use this list for a template for what Im going to do. Not wanting to high jack but any chance you could look at my mousilon thread and see what you think of the ideas?

Glad you like it KingsideBishop, thought it would be fun to make a Cav heavy list... Might try running it myself one day(using my Brets).

I agree with Commisarlestat that we should have a BSB... but should he be vamp or wight? Wight w. Banner of Barrows comes to mind. Vamp with the screaming banner, Aura of Dark Majesty and Fear Incarnate is another option.
