Ok then, before we start we need to know our plan of attack. Going at it from all angles is a good way for a User Project to fail.

Firstly, I think using the following format from the other User Projects works well:

  • Thread is created to discuss a section.
  • First post in the thread is updated as per discussion, with the majority of opinions being use to amend / create rules
  • New rules etc go to vote.
  • If voting is successful it gets added to the new rulebook
  • If unsuccessful, the discussion thread is reopened to discuss further.

This has worked well previously, so as it tried and tested makes sense to use it again.

However what does need to be decided on is what should be discussed per thread. Should movement be a thread, or should it be broke down further, such as a thread for marching etc?

What order? Should be just do it as per the current BRB and see where we end up at the end?

My thoughts are:

Main areas should have a thread, so charging has a thread which includes declaring, reactions, movement etc. Next thread is compulsory movement. Next thread is normal movement and so forth.

I think to make it nice and simple, we should discuss it in the order of the 8th edition rulebook.

However you prefer.

Though, most of us already know what the biggest changes which are disliked are.

In fact, some of them already have threads started, all of which I responded to :D

A very interesting project, with a lot of potential. And im sure ill follow it and might even come with some input every now and then.
Just remember that every change you make, also have to be discussed from the perspective of every other army in the range, thou some armies might be boosted/balanced out by 1 rule might nerf another army considerable. And do they get boosted somewhere else.
Id also suggest that nothing becomes CN official untill the first army book is published, since that will give an indication of what will happen in the future.

But  for the initiative.

I total agree with Anilar - we will need to look at this from every army's perspective.

As everyone else seems unsure how to proceed I will get started and see how we go!

In rulebook order seems perfectly logical to me.

So, that'd make the Movement chapter first... we probably should lock the non-movement related threads and just stick to the Movement ones for now then.
