Is there any such thing? Specifically Necrarch/Von Carstein or Necrarch/Blood Dragon hybrid bloodlines. If they already exist what are they called? I'm wondering because I want to write out some fluff for my Count, Black Baron, yes his name is a play on the Red Duke. But unlike the Red Duke, who hailed from Bretonnia, I want my Count to come from Kislev.

I do not believe that Hybrids technically exist due to the way bloodlines are transferred to gets.

However you could easily invent one yourself.

Perhaps the result of a Necrarch's experimentation or maybe a vampire who has hunted down and drank the blood of another line so much that it has muddied their own bloodline traits (e.g. a Blood Dragon who has drank the blood of Necrarch's so often and so much he has taken on some of their traits).

Remember where bloodlines came from- all of the bloodlines were sired by a single lahmian in the first place, and in the end the personality of the vampire can do alot to differentiate their traits from their bloodline.
(Look at the strigoi for example, their bloodline "traits" come entirely from circumstance rather than what Ushoran was like)

Maybe my memory is a bit fuzzy here, but the other heads of the bloodlines weren't technically "sired" by Neferata as such, rather they were allowed to share in her secret of her "modified" Elixir of Life, taken from the Books of Nagash (with some help from the imprisoned Arkhan the Black if I recall correctly). It's been a while since I read the latest Nagash triology book now, so I might be mistaking here. The point is though, that the various Bloodlines don't share Neferata's blood, even though she was undeniably the first vampire.

No the other trueborn/master vampires were not sired by Neferata, they where just given permission to drink the elixer by the queen with the exception of her brother Ushoran who stole a drink out of jealousy and Abhorash who was tricked into drinking it.

I don't think we know the exact order they where sired except Nefereta was first then W'soran was next (as he helped her make it and also made the modifications to the elixer to change it from the original recipe).
I believe Vashanesh was last to be sired since he came from Khemri and not Lahmia but I'm not 100% sure.

i had a similar question when i was trying to to come up with an acceptable fluff for my vampires but it was focussed on how a vampire's traits and abilities developed.

The fact is that printed fluff doesn't cover everything and is deliberate in giving you some poetic license on stuff like this. Sometimes even fluff from the army books contradict each other and differ from the fluff in novels.

It doesn't really matter as long ap it sits well with you and perhaps other players in your gaming group.

I currently started reading Bloodborn, first of the Ulrika the Vampire novels.

*SPOILER ALERT*

I dunno how canon it is, but Gabriela Von Nafthafen (sorry if I misspelled), who is Ulrika's blood-grandmother, noted that while Bloodlines define generally how a vampire will be (Lahmian being seductive, Von Carstein being ambitious, etc.) the life of the vampire before receiving the kiss will define him as much at their bloodline. So you may have mighty warriors from Lahmian blood or Sorcerous Von Carsteins, etc. if the human before being turned was predeposed to being so.
She also notes that very few vampire remains that get from just one bloodline. She explains that while Vampires do not breed, they can mate. And said mating can bring a child who may inherit from one or both parents.
Gabriela is has the blood of both a Von Carstein and Lahmian. She works for the Lahmians as an undercover agent in Sylvania, easily passing as a Von Carstein if needed be.
So hybrid Vampires can exist. Well as far as this Black Library novel says.

Awesome, I was wondering if Warhammer vampires could mate but passed it off as absurd but now that you've answered it I'm thinking of a unholy birthed vamp lord :vampire3: thanks!

Worthy of note, you said you wanted your Vampire to be from Kislev. The character Ulrika in this novel is from Kislev as well.

Even though I have read the books, I must have missed the "vampire breeding" part.
I do suspect tatt the author might have taken some liberties though, as I'm pretty sure this is the only case where this option exitsts for warhammer vampires. The Blood kiss has always been the only way to greatest a vampire in other warhammer lore, and that doesn't leve any room for any mixing of bloodlines.
the idea of a vampire child, growing up with parents from two different bloodlines has some comic potential I must admit, but the idea that this is is so common that it has made hybrid vampires the norm so to speak, or even possible at all for that matter, really maked me re-evaluate the "coolness" of the warhammer vampire.

It is in Chapter 3 of Bloodborn. I seem to have misunderstood a bit, while Vampires can't give birth to Vampires, the quote mentions that in Vampire mating blood is exchanged and both end up as hybrids, and a child born (I think this refer to the blood kiss) from either parent after will inherit either or both bloodlines. Sorry to everyone about the confusion.

I hope this is ok to post (just in case, I will report myself) but here is an extract from my Kindle eBook file:

Thanks. I wasn't doubting that it was there Wargamer, just couldn't recall redning it (Even though I have read the books a while back).
Still, since this is the only source leaning towards vampires intermingling (crossbreeding) in warhammer that there is (as far as I know at present),so I do suspect tatt the author has taken upon himself some artistic freedom in this regard, to get his stories to have tatt Lahmia angle. But, that might just be my take on it. He certainly would't be the first warhammer author straying off the beaten path as it were, although GW generally has a firm grip on things.

That would indeed be a breach of the forum rules regarding copyrighted material, Wargamer. I'll go ahead and remove those images from your post - quite interesting text, though!

I just deleted the hosted images as well. No harm meant. :)

Only saw the first sentece of your last post here when I replied Wargamer.
Good to see there was no "children" angle at least. As for the rest, this is not confirmed by other sources as far as I know, but if this blood mixing were to ocurr, then yes, we might see some changes. Probably. That part is not so far fetched.

Even if this is the official new take on things, I still would think that any hybrid would be a very rare thing, and non-existent as far as mixing of some of the bloodlines go. The von carstein - lahmia one sees by far the most likely one though. Can't really see any vampire freely entering a love affair with a strigoi (too use the most obvious example), volountarily geting their debased Blood in their veins.
The point is that hybrid vampires would be extremely rare (as vampires are pretty rare themselves), not the norm. Any obvious hybrid (on the surface) would probably be looked down upon by the "pure" ones, and in some instances might even become hunted by their own.

If I remember correctly, jerek von carstein fed on a lahmia vampire in one of the von carstein triology books, and from what I recall, it just rejuvinated him Much better then human blood, and temporarily "boost" his powers. Don't think he gained any lahmian traits etc. This was also something he discovered there and then, and I got the impression that this was not common knowledge amongst vampires.

Well doesn't seem like that all the vampires in the book are now all hybrids? Since the original bloodlines are not the main choice now and we can pick and choose our vampire powers seems like the original bloodlines got diluted and now whats left is a bunch of mixed powered vamp lords. With a few original bloodline characters so elders to all these hybrids. Well atleast that is how I see it now.

I think that was Gabriela's point. After so many centuries, if not millennia, there should be a lot of mixing in the blood.

Exactly. I think it is a nice explanation for the way the new armybooks work.
I generally like the idea of mixed bloodlines although some combinations just seem to be very weird (Strigoi/Lahmias? Beastly seductive?)

But oh well, I'm just going to assume that Necrach and Strigoi have better things to do than mate with the more human-like bloodlines.

When I read Bloodborn I took what they said to mean that both "Parent" vampires got to munching on the "Child" human and then both gave the human their blood. That was just my interpretation. It does leave it sort of open ended as to how many parents a get could have but then again wouldn't it be cool if one vampire from each of the know bloodlines make a vampire together.
