I haven't played Vampire Counts since getting the new LM book, but I certainly have lots of experience losing to Vampire Counts under the previous book.
Given that Skinks have taken a leadership hit, they should die even faster to scream attacks. Every dinosaur has a leadership score of 6 or less meaning they hate Screams.
As a LM player I had trouble dealing with ethereal embedded characters (aka wraith walls in front of big zombie blocks) because most of my character points were tied up in the Slann so relatively few magical weapons to hit ethereals or challenge blender lords. Now Slann are more expensive than before.
If you go the Purple Sun route, keep in mind that the new Bastiladons can boost the Initiative scores of nearby units. Bastiladons are vulnerable to screams and Lore of Death spells, but not much else wither their massive armor saves
It's now possible to individually target Kroxigor in a mixed Skink/Kroxigor block from the front rank and said blocks are no longer immune to Stomps so they aren't the monster killers they used to be. Kroxigor hit on Strength 7 now though.
The Engine of the Gods is more available since it no longer requires a character to work, but it no longer deals extra damage to undead.
Troglodons are considered to be the weakest unit in the book now. I wouldn't be too concerned with these guys.
Salamanders can't march and shoot anymore so they'll have more trouble lining up ideal shots. They inflict S4 hits now but they lost their massive armor save penalty so they are better at killing Core but weaker at killing knights than they used to be. Razordons have gotten cheaper and better and are now a threat to your chaff units.
If your goal is to play dirty: Two (or three Terrorgheists), a blender vampire lord with Red Fury, a L4 Master Death Necromancer, a massive unit of Core with ethereal characters making up most of the front rank (except the blender vampire lord). I have never been able to beat this combo with my LM even with lists constructed that I thought were designed to work around it.
