Right so back in Italy I shot my soccer ball over the fence. There was a fence betwen our landlord's houses and some sort of agricultural plane. The fence wasn't that stable. So I got over the fence without injury.

Though, the way back was harder, as now I have to click 2 meter onto a fence that has iron wiring of barely 5 mm thick. Also was the highest part rather hanging loose, so my weight would make it move all over the place.

So I climbed up and up, and when I reached the top, which I did without much problem, I wanted to jump back on our side. I did so and guess what happens: one of my jeans' pipes get stuck on just one of the iron bars (the top wasn't knitted together) and I smack myself right down in our garden (where cats shit and all that stuff).

I was like ughgownedroflwtfhappenedtome

Havent hurt myself that often(quite rarely infact) really outside of sports injuries.

Most noteble would be when I rode a BMX in the night, dark as hell, then suddenly a huge bloody anchor(which is black as well) appear and I go full speed straight into it. I manage to evade it with the front wheel but given my contidition(I was shitfaced drunk) I failed to evade it completely. As a result I get catapulted almost 4 yards away and generally hurt myself pretty badly(especially my right shoulder).
So the moral of the story is:
1. Dont drink and drive.
2. Dont ride a bike when it´s pitch black outside.
3. YOU CANNOT DO THOSE AWESOME TRICKS YOU SEE ON THE X-GAMES! GETTING DRUNK DOES NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES!

I think that goes into most embarrassing and painful. Funny too infact, those who saw me fly through the air said it looked awesome :P

Yes, I used to be into BMX(not so much) and inlines when I was younger, nowdays I just break too easily :P

I'll give the same answers as I gave on Asrai.org:mrgreen:

1. Most embarrassing injury.
Severe alergic reaction to girlfriend's lipstick. Angry, red, swollen kiss shaped blisters and scabs for a month. Wouldn't even tan properly for a year.

2. Worst injury suffered at work (or school if you're still at school).
One of my Chemistry students pushes a hot test tube in front of my face to smell where upon Troll Vomit erupts (concentrated sulfuric acid, dichromate, and various toxic organics all at about 100C) My safety glasses saved my eyesight, but my sideburns (it was the 70s) were dissolved and the right side of my face is still scarred and I cannot grow a beard because there are patches where the hair won't grow. Also destroyed my tie, shirt, jacket, and trousers and I had my face dyed a mottled green until the skin peeled off.

3. worst injury suffered as a kid (<12 years old).
Broke my right arm/wrist in the sme place four times between 6 and 12.

Walking across a glass dining table aged 5 or 6, pretending to be Gideon the duck, anyone remember him?
Next thing I'm sat on the floor with loads of big glass shards sticking out of my back, my grandmother then pulls them out and tries to stick plasters over the dozen or so geysers of blood shooting out of my back, off to hospital I go.
To this day(some 28 years later) I have big red scars running across my lower back, combined with a big red birthmark, a lovely combination.
Just as well my wife finds it wierdly sexy, I think she has some kind of scar fetish, Dont ask me?

When I was around 5, I was running around outside in the dark at my grandparent's place, chasing my siblings (I think it was a game of 'you're it') when I tripped and fell on their front porch and proceeded to headbutt one of their old metal seats from a tractor that they had converted into a swivel seat.

One of my older sisters took me inside screaming 'Mum!!!!' and I found out when my mum took me to the bathroom and I got a look at myself in the mirror that the warm stuff I could feel running down the side of my face was blood. Had opened up a nasty gash on my left eyebrow.

Off to the hospital, vaguely remember being taken into a theatre and the doctor mentioning something about how did I manage to do that. But more clearly remember being carried back to my waiting parents by a very, very nice nurse

Was too young to appreciate that as much as I would nowadays. 10 or so stiches, and still have the scar with me today.

Worst injury as a kid: When I was 13 I cut my thumb to the bone trimming flash off a metal skeleton with a blunt blade and cut towards myself. That required four stitches and I bled like a split pig when I did it.

So kids, that advice about not using blunt blades and always cutting away from yourself is worth taking note of!

Most painful injury: A few years ago I was creosoting my parents fence. I was on a ladder and I was getting a bit overconfident about how far I could reach with the brush (I was getting fedup of moving the ladder a few inches every so often). Anyway I lost my balance and fell backwards onto some bamboo stakes that were holding plants up. Luckily I wasn't impailed but I had a fair chunk of my back gouged out. I was in agony for weeks with that.

Most embaressing injury (whilst drunk): I was about 17 and like most 17 year olds I loved beer and attempting to impress women. I was rather the worse for wear in my then local and I proclaimed to the pub that I could touch the ceiling with my feet if I jumped off the pool table. My then girlfriend, her friends and the rest of the pub cheered me on (barstewards the lot of 'em!)

Anyway, once I regained conciousness in casualty (A&E for your US types) I was told that, no, I hadn't managed to do what I set out to. ;) Apparently I'd jumped backwards, flinging my legs in the air and smacked my head against the pool table as I fell to the floor and knocked myself out.

Still I can't complain, the following week the regulars bought me beer all night! :)

Most stupid injury: A couple of years ago I was having a shower and I slipped and cracked my head against the taps as I went down. That was when I discovered that casualty don't normally use stitches anymore and they superglued my eyebrow back together. I also ended up with a very impressed black eye from that injury as well.

I was quite safe as I was really uninjured as a child. How introverted!

I did, however, have something far more painful than anything a lot of people can imagine. Intravenous varicus vein surgery while awake with a 2 foot long fibre optic cable sticking just under the skin in my leg. Me leg needed to be continually numbed so I didn't feel anything and when they used the laser to remove the vein, i got the taste of garlic in my mouth and I HATE garlic. The day after, I attempted to stand upright with some help and I hear a very distinct splash, like a cup of water being dropped. Looking to the floor I discovered it was indeed liquid, but it was blood. The pain subsided fully after 6 weeks.

Well, since I have dislocated my shoulder four times before, I just had to make it five times. The fifth time was only just yesterday, after going into a bag for a bottle of pop.

It was agony. But considering the fact that I have done it four times previously, the pain was more bearable. All my good friends who stayed helped a lot. Even when Andy (Who was around when it happened the third time) didn't believe that I had actually did it, it only took me to tell him once that I had dislocated it.

I then went to the hospital, got the usual treatment, but my shoulder pain was getting worse. By the time they actually got round to the needle (the second time), the needle actually hurt more than the shoulder pain.

Then when I came round after they had knocked me out, I felt so rough.

So I can't do a lot of things at the moment.

Hmm, the worst has to be when i was about 5 I think. We were in a pub and I was walking off to the play area. Now the swing doors into the play area had windows set in them, but as you can imagine a 5 year old doesnt quite reach that high. So i reach the door, just intime for a man on the other side to come along and push to door outwards towards me. I wasn't wearing shoes. I remember a hell of a lot of pain and a warm feeling on my big toe. Next thing i know im being driven to hospital. I spent the next 4 hours there having the remains of my big toe removed from my foot and the base of a new one surgically grafted to the gap. It had torn out almost an inch down the toe. It wasnt a pretty site.
Although I also suppose I could mention the time I wonderd what would happen if I grabbed hold of the pan when it had just been removed from the 200 degrees oven. Nasty blisters, lots of bandages, couldnt use my right hand for 2 weeks.
Last of all Was the time I almost severed my Thumb with a tin of cat food. You know how most people cut themselves with those razor sharp corned beef tin lids? Well I decided to break the trend. a scar from the print to about 2mm from the nail, all the way round. Blood. In large amounts.

Talk about threadomancy Marcus!!

However considering you added something to the topic I will forgive it.......this time.

Lets see, the two injuries that stand out are:

I was about 3/4, playing hide and seek. I decided to hide in a wardrobe and as I saw the rail above me I thought it would be a really good idea to swing on it. Unfortunately it came down, jabbing my elbow on a nail that was poking out, tearing a huge gash. The stupid babysitter tried to just put a bandage on it, but after 12 hours and it was still bleeding she finally took me to hospital. I remember them cleaning the dirty bits out with needles or something, all I know is every time they touched the raw flesh it hurt like hell. Ended up with stitches.

Another time I was on my BMX about 8 years old. It was summer and I was in shorts. Cycling really fast down a gritty tarmac road I slipped and my bare kneecap grinded against the speeding ground, flaying of layers off skin. That also hurt like hell.

I think you're right on that, Ophidicus.

As for a painful injury, one that springs to my mind would be when I were 10 years old and fancied testing my balance by walking on a narrow board. I failed. One leg on each side of the board. :(

I'm gonna try and keep this thread on target!

Lets see... when I was about 12 I fell off an 8 foot wall, came close to shattering my arm (I fell on concrete :P), but I only bruised the bone! Well, nearly :P
As for scars, I've got about a 20-25 cm one running across from my belly button from Twisted-Baby-Guts-itis! I was like one, maybe 14 months, I really don't know :P Apparently the scar grew with me! And I've got callus scars on my knees and elbows, I fall down, a lot :D And this one random one on my ankle where I came within a hares breath of busting up my ligament. Got it caught between two big rocks, slipped, had my ankle twisted Pretty badly! Only lost a medium sized chunk of skin though! I put a plaster on it and walked it off :P

I should really go to the hospital more when I injure myself... Damm super glue being so cheap and effective...

Nothing to special to mention; I've lost count of the number of times I had to pick asphalt out of my hands & knees when I was a kid. I recall opening one of my knees up rather impressively one lunch time at school; kept me out of the school football (yes, I do mean soccer) team for several weeks.

Perhaps the most painful was someone's jackboot to the epicentre of my groinal area one day at the station after school. Somehow I managed to keep a brave face on, not showing any pain, but walked with a slight crouch. One week later, pain has finally settled down, playing a game of football at school, running in for a tackle, bloke kicks the ball.......pretty much smack, bang on target in the same spot said jackboot hit just the week before.

Trust me, it hurts a lot more the second time.

In terms of cuts/scratches, etc, I managed to slice the inside of my right middle finger picking up the remains of a pint one night. Didn't even feel it, but noticed the blood. Thankfully it was a clean slice so healed up nicely, can barely see it. Also managed to slice the inside of my left hand whilst attempting to extricate my considerable bulk from a diving pool as a young 'un. Lost my grip on the slippery ledge that was under about an inch of water, felt something odd, then noticed the steady stream of crimson at the base of my little finger.

The good thing was that the local hospital was a 2 minute drive up the road.

When I was in primary school, playing football someone stood on my hand and pushed it back so that the back of my hand was flat against the top of my arm - Broke my Wrist.

A Dog ran out into the road and I was too close to break, so I tried to swerve but ended up coming off my 700cc Motorcycle. (Cruiser) having a 500lb Bike on your leg isn't fun :D
