Long time lurker really, always had a soft spot for warhammer undead and read a lot of the black library publications surrounding vampires.
I’ve read a lot more than I’ve hobbied unfortunately.

I picked up a few bits and pieces over the years which got stored in boxes and forgotten. Finally put together 3 skeletons from maybe 6th edition today and primed them to try out some test colours see if I can actually get a bit of an army together, or if not at least a few units to justify holding onto them for so long.

My main issue is I have no idea on which trope I wish to lean into

classic straight up gothic macabre style VC. Pretty much straight out the box kits nice and simple.

Sylvanian feel, would probably see what kits get rereleased in TOW, skeleton + great swords for grave guard, adding in empire knights for black knights/blood knights etc. a lot more work and a lot more expensive.

Similarly a Mousillon Breton VC again loads of conversion opportunities but also a large added expense and time consuming.

All options sound really appealing and just to throw more aggro at myself the only bloodline I dislike slightly less than the others are the Strigoi.

Anyway Hi and thanks for reading about my ramblings.

Good to see you here.

It’s best to decide on a bloodline you like the asteroid of the most.
if knights, blood knights and red duke are your best bets, if intrigue lahmian and if more courtly Von carstein, the others won’t suit your style/taste.

As undead are not getting old world model support I would lean in towards the red duke as brettonian and they have allot of new kits you can convert and mix in to your army.

Just depend on if you want a off the shelf army or a converted themed one.
the latter is a labour of love and will be a big time investment.
