Introduction

Hello everyone
I am new to VC (not to WH) and thought of getting a playable list for a tourney I will be in next year. I will theme it with snow/pirates (yes they both fit in the story.....). They will have a lot of blue colours on them because of the snow. I will make a list but I think the best way is just trying out how things work (or not work).

I have an battalion standing with a few more skeletons and 20 more zombies I also have an character modell so I can play a 1k game already. The aim is 2250 points whilst not spending an shipload of money. I thought of another battalion some grave guard an vharghulf...... and I will see how many money I have left from there to buy some specials and other funstuff but meaby you guys have better ideas to spend my money? any help will be welcome.

Anyways! Welcome to the darker side of Warhammer. You made a good choice by coming here, but now that you're here....well...we charge a membership fee. A pint of your best blood, I'll PM you my address.

But, how to spend your money. You're looking for Pirate type models, or Undead that you're going to convert? If you're looking for conversion material, I'd recommend the Zombie Sprues. They're the most easily butcherable models in the VC range, and offer good clothing type options that a little GS could make into pirates. Good stuff there.

You've already got a good chunk of models, the majority of what you'd need now is another character or two. Vampire Characters take up huge chunks of points, so 4 characters in a 2250 game is going to be around 850 points, with the Lord rolling in at around 400! So picking up at least two more 'Pirate Captains' would be good for you.

Also, if you're interested, try looking here for Zombie Pirates that our fellow forum goers are developing. A custom list replete with Pirates, Singing zombie deckhands, and Krakens. All being developed.

But, as far as further purchases go, I'd recommend more characters first off. As filling out your Vampire slots would allow you to jump in point sizes rapidly.

After that, a special or two will never go wrong. Grave Guard/Black Knights are my choices. Can't go wrong with those.

I will give away my fluff a bit so you can see why I want some pirates in there. Filling out with vamps and special/rares sounds good I will just need to totall it and see how many points I still have left to spend.

Part of fluff:

Mannfred attacked the Empire 3 times. First 2 were in the summer when the pirates where everywhere. Last time was in the winter but when he raised the new zombies somehow the zombie pirates appeared instead of normall zombies. As its winter everyone will have blue clothings and even Mannfred himself will be stuck in blue.

So thats just basics.

For the list I will use the normall army book list because of the tourney and other things I am not allowed to take alternate lists to.

Welcome to Carpe Noctem!

Well your lfuff sounds very interesting, and you should be able to do some dcent coverting with the Zombie and Skeleton sprues. I would make sure you stay away from things like wolves and Corpse carts then, as they won't fit with your fluff. However bearing that in mind, in a tourney you might want to be competitive.

I would recommend you post up an army list and we can help you from there.
