Lol, some good suggestions.
Anyway, My camera is finally working again (some small part of the SD card broke of in the SD slot) so I've got some pictures of the first five finished Chaos Marines for you.
The next three are nearing completion as well and should be posted up in the next couple of weeks.
As always comments and criticism would be very much appreciated.
Thanks guys. I must say that the camera flash washed away some of the shading on the armour. IRL the armour plates have a purplish/brown (burple) sheen to them that contrasts nicely (if I do say so myself) with the yellow hazard stripes.
Well here they are. Or at least part of them. These have some Forge World Mark III Iron Armour mixed into them to make them more interesting. The running one also has a converted chain weapon that I'll show once it's been painted. I have to say that the Forge world armour is a bit fiddly, but because the armour plates only go halfway around the limbs it's possible to paint on some freehand hazard stripes.
As always, comments and criticism would be very much appreciated.
Nice I plan to order more forge world marines myself. It's nice to see one painted up even if not in my color's They are looking great thus far especially the stripes.
Finished the next 3 warriors aside from the bases. I have to say the forge world bitz are a bit fiddly to paint, but they do look good. Also my first conversion (even if it is only a weapon). Some sort of poleaxe. Turned out a bit big, but I like it anyway.
Got started on the final member of my Warsmith's bodyguard. It's the classic warsmith which will probably be the only model in the army which will not be converted in any way.
I love seeing someone doing battle damage on their marines. I myself am guilty of forgetting that power armor does get damaged in battle. Any ideas on how you are basing them?
Thanks man.
Bases should be covered in urban rubble and dirty snow (the kind you find on the side of the road after cars have driven over it) or if I don't manage to find a convincing way to make the snow grey and clumpy I'll use the Mordheim tufts of dead grass.
Thanks, I have to say I'm very pleased with how the Mk3 bitz add more character to the unit. No updates on the Iron Warriors front so far as I'm busy assembling and magnetizing some tanks (2 rhinos, a predator and a vindicator), but I do have a Studio McVey drone I'm painting in between.
Still very WIP, but I like him so far.
As always C&C would be very much appreciated.
Been a while since I updated this thread as I've been busy with school, work and moving. I finally unpacked my paints and got to work on some of my more recent aquisitions. Anyway, those of you who follow the forge world releases (I'm looking at you Sanai) should recognize these two as the new Cataphractii pattern termies that were released a week ago. Couldn't resist picking these up as they look exactly like what an IW terminator should look like.
So here's the bodies of the first 2 painted without any helmets, arms and shoulder pads, but this counts as faster than light painting for me.
As always I'm here for your comments and criticism and they would be very much appreciated.
