Hi there.
Having stalked the forum for quite a bit, I decided to make a paint log of my own, and perhaps get some criticism and whatnot from you all.
I quit the hobby some 8 years ago, and these are my first attempts at painting again. I will mostly be using Mantic minis for my army, as they are dirt cheap, and not too shabby! This is going to be my first actual army, so go easy on me

I apologise for the poor quality of the photos, I'm an idiot with a camera (and a computer).

Skeletons: (these didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but they'll do. At first I just drybushed them with skull white)

Zombies: (I'm quite happy with these, but I probably won't be using them, as Mantic are releasing zombies in September, and the scale is off with GW)

Ghouls: (Also fairly happy with these, first minis I painted. Bases need to be redone)

Well, the spacebar was a solution to them not showing up
I tried editing them without the spaces, and it didn't work. They'll just have to be links for now then

Might be because you copied the actuall homepage adress the image is hosted on rather then the image adress.

On Photobucket you have a little box on the right, just click the one small line of text that says: IMG code.

Yay, now I can see! For first army painting in eight years these guys are looking great, the drybrushing is very effective. I dont know if the photos but maybe the weapons on the zombies look a bit clean, maybe a wash or some rust effect? Anyways good work and lets see some more soon

Thanks a bunch! Yeah, I didn't do alot about the zombies' metals, might go back and give them a wash, now that I have a Badab Black and Devlan Mud .
Updates most likely tuesday with (hopefully) a few painted minis.

So, I got something done over the weekend. I figured I wouldn't be up for modelling, as I had work, partying and the inevitable hangover. But I was inspired sunday, and assembled and spraycoated 20 revenants (GG), 10 ghouls, 5 wraiths and a wight king. All from Mantic naturally. I still have 20 skeletons and 10 dire wolves (GW) that aren't assembled yet.
Today I painted up the wraiths, shamelessly stealing a technique that SethDrallitoc (who has one of the best plogs on here) used on his spirit hosts:

I think it turned out ok, IF not as good as Seth's hosts.

Nice start on the army so far dude, as some of the other guys have said these are some good paint jobs after an 8 year break from the hobby

I really like the wraiths, very nice ethereal effect you have given them only thing I would suggest is to dirty up the zombies weapons a bit as has been suggested already

I'll take your advice and fix the zombies weapons - at some point.
Probably not going to be updates over the weekend, busy with job and girlfriend.

Nice work, the wraiths look pretty good and for the next skellie unit I would look at using the washes to pick out the recesses a bit more. Look up TDS's skeleton painting guide in our article section, has some great tips.
