Hey guys, I decided to start a paint log to keep my self on track. I have not painted miniatures for about 5 years. Just started on skeleton core with swords.

I also just put together a quick wight king using:
Crypt Cart driver body, left hand, right hand w/ whip.
Vampire Count from dragon kit's sword and sheild arm.
Grave guard and Skeleton kits.

Still have some work to do on him, I don't have any greenstuff to fill in some gaps and make some little accessories or a crown.

Finished putting together my Graveguard, Spriit hosts, corpse cart, and crypt ghouls.
Finished painting my skeleton warriors, and have a few pictures I just can't find my camera cord to upload them.

Started painting my Necromancer, and the wight king. Took a break and put together the oger kingdom battalion my friend game me. Painted one, gave me a chance to practice some miniature painting techniques and get back into the swing of things.

Once I get to a computer tomorrow, I'll have some more pictures to post. I usually paint a series of skate decks every month or so, and I surprisingly have one left over that I'm going to use as a pic w/ some fiction of my Wight king. The theme of my VC is early slavic/Russian with dark greens as the main colours.

It always takes me a while to build up on the fluff of my armies. A summary would be a haunted dark forest in the slavic background shourding a ruined castle. I am leaning on the name of 'Tsar Kasimir' (Kashmir translates to enforcers the peace) for the Wight king. A king who punished the guilty with his own hand, and loved by his people...until he started enforcing beheadings on smaller and smaller offences of the law. Eventually he was beheaded by his own people and an ursuper. The head impaled on the city gates to appease the peasants, and the body left under the rubble and the late Tsar's loyal guard's bodies.

So with that I have a start to my army. The vampire lords and hero will have to wait because 1) I Havn't converted models for them and 2) Wight kings are WAAAAAAAAY cooler, and deserve a lord choice in 8th.

Haven't been on here for a while. Started a new Dark Eldar and World Eater army. Back on VC, and I'm 6-1-1 with the new codex. A lot of games vrs WOC. The other day I fielded a ghoul army for the first time in 8th with the Strigoi with the skabscrath. Not only did he destroy the WOC combat hero, and Mage Lord, his screaming ended up removing 20+ Muraders by the end of the game. I really liked how the army played and really wanted to have a model to show the combo off. Didn't see much online for Strigoi (other than the dragon kit), but got some good suggestions from Lynks in the dying to help section. I ended up using the Tzeentch Sorcerer kit, with the body and head of the Ghoul lord. So here is Der Ritter aka (http://theslenderman.wikia.com/wiki/Slender_Man):

I still have some green stuff work to do. I want to make a belt or something that connects the two vambrace. I might cut and repose the legs to give him more of a hunched posture as well. Even though Strigoi cannot take armor, I wanted to give him the look that at one time he would have been a wealthy vampire lord before their fall, slowly loosing human traits.
Here he is next to a ghoul to show off the height difference.

First time at the hobby shop in a while, and felt bad I was only buying something for four limbs, I got a new necromancer too.

Still debating wither to do it or not. I've never really been a fan of greenstuff flame. I was thinking about focusing on the screaming aspect. So it is a toss up from adding flame or something energy in a ripple pattern.

You Strigoi Ghoul King looks pretty good, but me lacking nature of beast in him. Sword makes him so civilized, as for me, it's strange for Strigoi. But him still looks very cool!

Nice conversions I have to say that the wight king is my favorite. The ghoul king looks interesting because he looks like he still retains some of his memories from his former life.

The burning skull was from the box with two wizards. It had a hand attached to the back to be held by the wizard. Was able to use blade to blend the fingers on the back into the flames. After it was attached to the body, you can't even tell.

Made some progress on the Black flame Necromancer, and pieced another one together. I live up in Wisconsin and it seems like we are going to be have some super snow/lightning storm tonight and tomorrow. I guess all of the schools and colleges are already cancelling tomorrow, so I stopped at the hobby shop and picked up my first mortis kit. I plan to finish up some paintings tomorrow during the day, paint my 2nd necromance and start that engine. Not making the throne also gives me some ladies to make into banshees.

Here is one of the banshees I made from the throne ladies. One of the first times I've really used green stuff add to a model. I had to add a butt and hip and add a little bit of leg.

Put this together and painted the other day. Got a chance to use it. It supported a unit of 6 crypt horrors in a game against WoC. First turn the horrors made a lucky charge on murader horsemen which they destroyed and next turn did the same to a unit of chaos knights at the same time as a unit of ghouls and a strigoi general broke a unit of warriors. It was called at that point.

Played a few 40k Kill team games this weekend and got a friend interested in Mordheim. I have to say, Mordheim was and still is my favorite game ever made by Games Workshop. I was surprised when it didn't last or pick up. So any way, started an undead warband. After playing so many IoN heavy lists in Warhammer, I decided that I didn't want to use any zombies for as long as I could. I ran: a vampire with a sword and dagger with a bow for support, a Necromacer with a mace and dagger and got the doom spell, 3 Dregs with maces and daggers, 4 ghouls, 2 wolves. Ended up taking all the objectives in the game and in one turn destroyed a skaven list.
Dug through my bits and found some flagellant bodies and mixed them with some zombie bits and free company arms.

I still have have alot of work to do on them all.
