I thought this could be a useful thread to put together for people looking to get the most out of combos and tactics that work well with each other. This is both for identifying as well as discussing and debating effectiveness as well as for exploring potential further options...

The most readily obvious to me is the Mortis Engine/Cyrpt Horror combo (or indeed anything with Regeneration).

Looking forward on hearing your input!

1) Van Hel's with ghouls or crypt horrors.

2) Hellish Vigor with grave guard and black knights.

3) Aura of dark majesty our doom and darkness with beguile, screaming banner, ghostly howl, death shrike or soul leech.

4) Great weapon and quick blood. Put in a unit flaming banner to gain flaming attacks.

5) Skeletons with full command, 5-wide bus, with a couple characters and then your master necromancer in second rank.

6) Five wraiths in front rank of skeleton bus.

7) Black periapt and cursed book.

8) Van Hel's and Hexwraiths.

9) Mortis Engine and Vampire Lore Attribute.

1. Black Knight bus (with a Vampire General in them) with Hexwraiths, Terrorgheist and Vanhel´s Danse Macabre added to the taste.

2. Master of Black Arts (or Count Mannfred) with Black Coach (Evocation of Death) and Cursed Book as a small bonus.

3. Krell with a unit of Grave Guard with Banner of the Barrows. Kemmler is just an extra bonus, but not really that impressive.

4. Heinrich Kemmler with Corpse Cart (Balefire) for extra dispel fun!

5. Mannfred the Acolyte (or Count Mannfred if you have the points) with a unit of Blood Knights: A vampire character who can march with them, strikes before his Unit, it's in a dangerous flanker mini-star, can buff them with every spell we have (loremaster), AND he is protected against some miscast damage (since miscast are not Close Combat attacks, and Flag of Blood Keep SHOULD give some cover against those template hits. Please help me confirm this). Last, Mannfred will get a 3+/4++ against ranged, which is what will hit him the most. My last game, 5 Bloods and Manny leveled an entire unit of Plaguebearers and a Skullcannon with the use of Lore of Vampires alone, and tons of VDM, Hellish and some IoN.

6. Forbidden Lore: Heavens with a vampire on the Coven Throne, holding a Charmed Shield (against cannonballs) and the Talisman that gives him a 4++ on the first wound he suffers (can't recall the name, but costs 15pts). Also, BSB.

7. 2 Units of Vargheists alongside a lone Varghulf/Black Coach on the flank. Fast and nasty kills.

8. 1-3 Death Necromancers within the range of IP of a Vampire Lord. Death Snipes, Death snipes everywhere!

9. Coven Throne's Scrying Pool, re-rolls to Wound while it charges for extra fun on the Impact Hits AND the ASF Handmaidens (and possibly the vampire on top of it). I almost never use the re-rolls to Hit on them.

10. Red Fury, Sword of Swift Slaying and Potion of Strength on a Hero Vampire for extra blending in the right turn (steam tanks go poof! with this one).

11. Scroll of Shielding when fielding tons of Ethereal dudes. It's extra worth it!

12. Staff of Damnation (yes! that horrible arcane item...), while affecting a Horde of Grave Guard (added with characters to taste) and a Horde of Ghouls. 1-3 Mortis Engines too for the Ultimate brawl fun!

If I think of any more I'll add them here, hehe!

Staff of damnation on ghoul/CH horde plus mortis engine PLUS crypt cart for asf.

Alternatively for much less points, support aforementioned horde with swarm of bats. a must against elves.

13. Vampire on a Coven throne with Shadow magic and a Necromancer on a Corpse Cart. If you see any of them in trouble, just cast a shadow spell and swap them! (it's not that easy to pull off, but it works, and some people never see it coming!)
