long drip of blood

Hey everyone

I wanted to have some blood on an axe, but I was thinking how do you make those lenghty drips that nearly touch the ground?

I´ve seen some people do this and wanted to use it myself but I have no clue how to do it. I tried glue but that didn´t work out.

Does anybody has some advice on this topic?
All help would be greatly appreciated

I made a mask one year where I used long strands of hot glue to represent spit coming off the tongue.

So what I would recommend is to lay some small strands of hot glue on a piece of glass ,once the glue cools you can carefully remove the strands from the glass and then paint it red and glue it to the axe.

Or you could mix some acrylic medium to red paint and the do the same thing.

Paint it on glass and the carefully remove it from the glass once it dries.

The blood coming from his hand has two ingredients: Tamiya Red Clear mixed with a little bit of red and brown and actually hair from my own head to give the "strings" structure. I took light dabs of superglue and put the hair where the drips would be and once the glue was dry, I painted the Tamiya mix lightly over the hair.

A picture says more than a thousand words, I love the way how the blood looks so natural and I will definately use the method now that I know how it looks.
That method for the blood was also in the invocation right?

Also what manufacturer is Tamiya red from? (Is there maybe a GW or Vallejo counterpart?)

If you check out Woodland Scenics water effects, that works great. It's purpose is to make waterfalls and features, so if you get a bottle of it, mix it with a little blood red and let it dry in the shape of of the blood drops you want for 24 hours, it should come out pretty good looking and solid.

This technique is featured in a WD article from a couple years ago, when they were working on Harry the Hammer. The hair technique was used with successive coats of watered down PVA glue (very thin) to get a fine trickle of blood which was still fairly stiff. Then its up to you how you want to colour it, but washes of reds, purples, or even browns could give a lovely grimey blood look.

That is the greatest looking model of Vlad I have ever seen :O I don't even like the Vlad model all that much but your rendition makes me want to go out and grab one right this minute... sorry if that was off topic.
