Hi all,

I'm very new to 8th edition - just a decade late or so, it seems!
Working on a list for 2500 Vampire Counts. The list as it stands is 2499. Any sort of advice or feedback would be helpful. I read through a lot of the Sun King's guides to put this together. I am going to be mostly playing vs Ogres, Dwarves, and Tomb Kings as well as potentially Skaven so I want the list to stand a chance against all of those. Appreciate any advice you can give me, tactics, etc against those armies too.

Lords [490]
Vampire Lord - 220 (290) [goes with black knights]
Hellsteed - 30
Ogre Blade - 40

Master Necromancer - 165 (200) (goes in zombies)
Level Four - 35

Heroes [90]

Necromancer - 65 (90) [goes in skeletons]
Dispel Scroll - 25
[580 total characters]

Core [670]
30 Ghouls - 300

40 Skeletons - 200 (230)
Full Command - 30

5 Dire Wolves - 40 (40)

5 Dire Wolves - 40 (40)

20 Zombies - 30 (60)

Special [804]

6x Crypt Horrors - 228

30 Grave Guard - 330 (360)
Great Weapons - 30

9x Black Knights - 189 (216)
Barding - 27

Rare [445]
Terrorgheist - 225

Mortis Engine - 220

You planning on running those black knights in? Did you look up the blender vamp build?
Hi Count Berenthor,

I received some feedback from another group and I realized a few things. First off I wanted the vampire lord to join the black nights. I am familiar with the blender vamp build but didn't want to go too hardcore for my first game. I took him off the hellsteed and got him a barded knightmare instead

Is this also the reason why you are not taking any ethereal?

(with that said.... hello and welcome to CN ☺️)
Hi,

Yeah my friend has ogres which don't have a lot of magic weapons from what I understand? Otherwise I wouldn't mind as much. He has Tomb Kings which have some but not a lot. Thank you for the welcome!

I like the list! It is not specialized but have a lot of different tools, so I would say that it is versatile with a decent power level.

I owe a lot to your guide which I pored over a few times while building my list! I enjoy lists that are flexible rather than hardcore skew so glad to hear I achieved that aim. I'll also say that a lot of it is testing related, I want to see what works best for me and then go from there.
