I do not personally think an assassin would do, however, I would be open to suggestions of how it could be justified if anyone wants to elaborate.

The same would be true of any army then. I still believe it needs to be a bit more subtle than that. Political intrigue is one of Nagashs virtues, however...

all enemies versing the legion of nagash suffer from intrige at court if the legion of nagash has an assasin like hero not like an assasin more has the CC skills of an assasin and gives the enemy I@C this hero could be called a faceless(it sounds cool)puppy o.o eyes(so a faceless not assasin

What a horrific idea. High Elf players currently dislike I@C as it is, but to force it on other people would be nothing short of a disaster. I think that one needs to go back to the drawing board with that one. If I was going to include an assassin it would probably be something along the lines of a wraith who was an assassin in a previous life. It would fit in with Nagashs legion perfectly.

For this, it is better to look at the army list. The consensus on what to include was reached there.

Apologies for resurrecting a dead thread, but was the concept of a Liche considered for inclusion within this list?
To me, it seems to be an option which would fit in well with the overall theme of the army - seeing as it's basically an undead necromancer. Give it the Undead rule, and a couple of extras and you have something which is justifiably different from the standard Necromancer.

I guess I'm just going back to the days where it was simply "The Undead", before GW decided to do the split between the counts and kings. In my head, I can see this list being developed here being more in line with the original Undead lists back in the 4th Edition.

Oddly enough I don't think it was. However I don't think it would be appropriate, as the army is largely focused around the more alive servents of Nagash (the cult) and liches are also present in the Tomb Kings army, giving them an established role in warhammer background.

Oh, and Necromancers already have the undead rule.
