Im curious as to what special rules go with these? Im looking at Grave Guard as possibly one of my most notable killing machine units. Ive done a quick google search and one post i saw said that magic attacks do nothing against normal armour?!....im praying this isnt true.....

Do they negate armour saves and use ward saves instead?

Or do they use both?

Or none?.....

any help would be greatly appreciated

Thats a wieght of my shoulders. my GG were going to have the Drakenhoff Banner wielded by my Wight King and the Bane of the Barrows by the units standard bearer....around 20 in size with great weapons.......soooooo they packed one hell of a punch and take one hell of a beating...but to add to the extra beating I might give them sword and shield...

Don't forget that having magical attacks will prevent the dark elf over-lord Malekith from using his 2+ ward save, heheh. :)

Oooh that sounds painfull.....so my idea of regenerating, great weapon wielding grave guard is a brilliant one?! hehe hahahah MUHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Sure, never seen anyone else try that.

Be sure to update us with how it goes.

Heh, that last comment of mine was positively dripping with sarcasm ;)

It is actually a very commonly used unit for competitive and tournament play. So much so that the frequency of 'flaming attacks' (which nullify regeneration) had increased dramatically in the recent year, largely in response to the Drakenhof Banner and Herald-led Plaguebearers.

You'll find it works out brilliantly.

The 'magical attack' ability as far as I understand doesn't do anything at all, unless your opponent specificy specify that it does. Typically this is the case for magical beings such as etheral which can't be harmed at all by anything other than magic attacks and the wood elf tree spirits (dryads, treekin and treemen) which will have their 5+ ward save negated. I suspect deamons also have some vournability to magical attacks, but I don't know what. In any case, whenever your magical attacks actually does something, this will be specified in the rules for your particular opponent.
