Most Missed Powers + Items

What Items and Bloodline Powers do you miss the most from the 'old' Vampire counts??

Personal favourite of mine - the WS10 Blood Dragon Lords with cursed book! Always a tough nut to crack.

I miss NONE of the weapons!

I miss the old banner of the barrows (ALWAYS hit on 3's!), but with a decent combo, the new one could be better...

I miss (to a smaller extent) some of the apendix army lists such as the 'elite' blood dragon list, or the von carstein list (complete with shootie things!)

How about you dudes? What do you all wish you still had??

I miss the sword of unholy power even though Mannfred has it. (I need those extra dice as I am very short on magic elsewhere in my army)
I also miss the cursed shield of Mousillon and all the shortstories.

I miss the cursed book, the old carstein ring and the power familiar, though with change comes a new choice of great powers and items.

I miss the stat lines and special rules differienting the bloodlines. I miss the option of taking a vampire lord. I miss the full plate mail of Blood Dragons. I miss the mundane equipment options. I miss the old Cursed Book, Book of Arkhan, Ring of Night, 6" extra range for spells, I miss Forbidden Lore (even while the new one is better) and I miss Innocence Lost.

I miss the different bloodline stats as well, I'm probably sound like a broken record but I still think there should option to increase WS. I etc. And dropping a wound was ridiculous is my eyes.

Skirmishing Ghouls. (I know, not item or power)

The swings compensate for the roundabouts. I'll learn to love the new list.

My other armies are NOT missing facing armies with three Zombie Dragons with Book.

Nothing except the Sword of Unholy Power *sobs*... my precious, gone, STOLEN!
The Dark Eldar won't bomb alone >D

Not really a rule this, but I miss the background on different blood lines. There are some, but I'd want it to be a bit more fleshed out.
Power or item. Uhm, there's no +range on necromantic spells these days is it? That one always seemed quite nifty to me..

I miss the the blood line powers that they left out - Espesially innocents lost.
They gave my blood dragons the short end of the stick... , but the zombies are a bit better now

Primailly the ring of the night... a decent ward save without being too expensive or with a drawback is very useful IMO. I also miss the bloodline differentiation, though they would have been difficult to implement under the new system, which I prefer due to freedom of choice (though I wonder why they put them in different groups of powers for no actual mechanical effect).

I miss the Obsideon Amulet with its 4+ ward save against any kind of magical attack and magic resistance 1.

I miss the Army of Sylvania bloodline powers (And playing with the Army of Sylvania), the Ring of the Night and the Cursed Book.

I miss, I think it was, the Ring of Night? (The 5+ ward save). Was a nice little trinket, and I trust getting my points out of a 5+ save rather then a 6+. The Crown remains nice, but Stupidity, and my dice rolls together, scare me. With that, and the changes to the Carstein ring, we're left with only the Crown, or the new Walach's Hauberk for a decent ward save. I used to love combining the Ring of Night with the Flayed Hauberk.

Ah well, adapt, and adjust, right?

I miss skirmishing Ghouls, and, believe it or not, I miss them being 'Alive!'. Having them flee as a charge reaction was priceless.

I miss wolves as Core choices toward minimum, though I'll take the point drop.

I miss my full power Necros (used to love having two at magic level 2).

I miss my cheaper Black Knights (though, to be far, the barding WAS too cheap in that list).

I miss wolf form (can a vamp with the Talisman of the Lycni still join wolves?)

I think that's about it...

I miss the Ladies.

Yes they were weak, and in need of being redone, but they were fun to play.

Tying into that, I miss Innocence Lost, one of the best powers out there. And I miss the banner of the barrows. We still have it, but not as good as what it was.

Well, Lahmian's weren't my favourite, but I have to say I miss them. They had solid fluff and good character. It's too bad they didn't see fit to provide more lahmian esque powers.

Yes well now my army is based around a Lahmian seductress I've got to say I miss the options, Innocence lost would have really fitted in with my fluff (though the new spectral horror does fit in nicely with my idea for a Wraithlord that I was wanting to do for ages)
I wished they had kept some kind of option to alter the stats for example AoD could have give you +2 WS and +1A for 25pts and everyone should have been able to choose armour in the army list.

Innocence Lost, without a doubt. Having my Vampire striking after Phoenix Guard (thereby letting them chop down my Zombie Dragon), even with the Nightshroud and Book of Arkhan helping thw striking order, is not nice!

I miss the extra Strength when dire wolves charged.

I miss the BD full plate armor

I miss mundane weapons options, not having GW+magical weapon is just a pain!

I miss dire wolves being a count towards core option.

I miss ghouls being alive and skirimishing. They were priceless making baits.

And I miss the old CURSED BOOK! (who doesn't...)

The banner could be alot better now that it is +1 to hit - in a 3k game (or 2k if your that way inclined) have a vampire lord sit behind ur lines casting spells, but also equip with helm of commandment. Beholdeth: Wights that hit on a 2+.
