RE: Mousillon army blog - updated 16 Jan 2009

Zombies?! Are you all blind - they are flesh hungry ghouls!! Made with the Flaggellent [sp?] sprue.

They have turned out so good, I'm going to ignore the ghouls I already have. I've got to have mine looking like that.

A great..erm....is it a WK or vampire? Well whichever very nice. Great conversion on the steed if you could please elaborate on how you did it, and crisp perfect painting as always.

RE: Mousillon army blog - updated 16 Jan 2009

cheers guys!

they are indeed ghouls, or more accurately the local peasant population after many generations of inbreeding and partially starved!

I was really pleased with the outcome of combining the ghoul sprue with flagellant sprue, seems to fit right with the armies theme, and they were dead quick to make with next to no conversion work needed.

Not sure which steed your talking about disciple, but I assume its the BSB's. He is a wight king. the steed is a bret horse, with the 'horse' bits removed. I then broke a skeleton steed up at the top of the legs and literally just pushed it up under the barding. bit of careful positioning and its done. I have a whole unit of bkack knights done the saem too, just realised I havent any photos of them. I'll try and get a couple.

RE: Mousillon army blog - updated 16 Jan 2009

Your painting and converting is simply stunning. There's nothing else for me to say, so I'll simply shower you with some more praise. *Turns on the hose*

RE: Mousillon army blog - updated 16 Jan 2009

hmm, it'll be next week as they are kept elsewhere, but i can get you one.

its really very simple, some of the heads fit directly onto the flagellant neck collar with no work. some of them need a small blob of GS placed in the neck collar and then you press the head onto that and smooth it out to give him a bit of a neck.

absolutely no cutting/ filing etc, just a tiny bit of GS on some of them. bargain!

RE: Mousillon army blog - updated 16 Jan 2009

You really have done nothing short of perfect work here. Your vampire and WK are superb!

You're back!!

About bloody time xd

Those conversions look great. I very much like the hunting packs, and questing knights / wraiths look the part as well. We just need to see them painted.

I trust you are also entering in the Golden Bat Painting Competition?

RE: Mousillon army blog - updated 2 Jan 2010

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod... This update is just great, and when I read that you also have some painted models to show us... :|

The idea of the hunting pack is just great, though at the current unit size the wolves are a bit under represented - I think you should add another four of them at least xd. The questing knights (and is that a banshee I can see in the back of the unit there?) are very convincing; the removal of the feet did the tricks when it comes to making them look like wraiths.

RE: Mousillon army blog - updated 2 Jan 2010

I love the hunting pack idea but Sheep is right, you'd want to maybe put in a few more wolves!

As for the questing knights, they look promising and I haden't even notice (until I read dark sheep's comment) that you had cut off their feet to make them look as if they are floating. Good one!

Oh and welcome back!

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

Those are some nice mini's. Especially the lord with the brazier. One question....Do you play with those movement bases as they are very wide? May two questions. Do they cause any problems?
Thanks and keep the nice pics coming.

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

I just read through this for the first time and all I can say is Oh.My.God.. Those models are some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.. those Black Knights are especially fantastic. Kudos to you, Sir, for your sheer genius and excellent painting ability

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

Those Grave Guard are great; that they wield the halberds two handed gives them a very dynamic feel and lends a sense of movement. Also the conversions on the Varghulf makes it look more like a beast and less like a giant bat and that I have to applaud. Of course the rest of your models look excellent as well, but with school starting in some 10 minutes I don't have time to praise them all :D.

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

Your army is looking lovely! I really like how you've subtly worked yellow onto the Corpse Cart. Oh and the zombies/bodies on it look disgusting. Well done! :)

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

Those all look great, I really like the black knights and the Grave guard and the Varhgulf is pure awesome. Also the fire illuminating the Vampire looks really good. The rust on the weapons looks really good as well make the weapons look old and like they've been used/buried for many years.

May I ask how you painted the rust?

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

I am just going to echo everyone's sentiments here and say that us simply superb. The vampiress is stunning!

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

thanks for the comments guys.

The grave guard are my favourite, they just look well 'ard!

rust is
black undercoat, drybrush tin bitz, boltgun metal then stipple dark flesh, snakebite leather over the bits you want rusty. i also have some old brown ink that i use to shade.

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

What can I say...every time you post, I feeling like taking my own models, selling them away and only enjoying the hobby from a viewers perspective! :'(

I particularly like the varghulf conversion and those grave guard are just superb - excellent contrast between the yellow and the rusted armor.

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

Until I saw this plog, I would've never thought it possible to take yellow and make it work as a uniform colour for VC. I know they are the colours of Mousillon, but it is amazing that you have made it work with undead!

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010

Those new models are awesome! I especially like Lynci Vampire, he looks really badass but still Bretonnian! xD
The skeletal Grave Guard are very well executed as well. I think the best touch on these guys are the shoulder pads for some reason.
Overall, excellent work. Keep it coming!

RE: Mousillon army blog - massive update 7 Jan 2010
