So, after fifteen years of being away from the grand sport I have recently found myself with a little time on my hands. Essentially I am kind of restarting things as as therapy... Probably didn't need to confess that but..

Anyway, I have loved Hammer Horror for my whole life and since the Vampire Counts are heavily influenced by this, it was an easy choice. I decided to go with the colors: Green, White and Red in order to represent the Sylvanian Forests, Mannslieb and the ancient bloodlines respectively. Anyway, here is what I have (very early wips) currently:

Welcome and great looking start, cool conversions. That skeleton with the helmet could probably pass for a grave guard also.

The Italian flag colour scheme looks really good, stick with it

I like the mud/dirt on the cloth and your bases look good. Personal choice but painting the edge of your base in a colour of your choice could be worth doing.

And hey building and painting miniatures can be very therapeutic, both as a creative outlet and also as something to focus on. I find painting very relaxing and often paint to de-stress after work ;)

Thanks man, it's a little more than de stressing but I really appreciate your comments.
What would be the best option for an edge; either brown or
green?

dcw01: No worries, I am actually a psychologist so I see a lot of difficult stuff. Life can be tough. That said hobbies and interests can be great in helping people deal/get through things.

Basing: Personal preference I guess. I do brown edges but anything can look good as long as it fits your army theme. Have a go at both and see what you like? I look forward to seeing your army come together :Vampire1:

Is there any chance a mod could move this to the work in progress section please? I realize that I have put it in the wrong section... Sorry....

Also, has anybody tried shading a ghost inside out? I mean, starting with a light colour and getting progressively darker so it looks like it has an internal glow.

Instead of zombies I am going for freed lunatics. The champion in the center has a bunch of cell keys by his waist and carries the inmates records in his book.
My musician has removed his own eyes to quell any distractions. He is now consumed with the insane rhythm of his drumming.
The gentleman on the far left has been fitted with a head cage to prevent him from biting the warders. It will be straighter once glued but at the moment it has just been placed on.

Completed skeleton spear command.
It's funny that when you see pics up close you spot so many mistakes. My eyes must be deteriorating... like a zombie.

I'm working on a prototype spirit host at the moment. It's based on the idea of a rusted suit of armor rising from a lake, shackled with chains. I also wanted lots of grasping arms coming from below just like that part in the Exorcist 3.

Also, sorry about the blurring. I'll have to learn to put my camera on macro. Silly billy.

Looking good there dcw01, nice conversions and your shading is wonderful. Particularly the red on that banner! I'll be keeping an eye on your army

Awesome conversions with painting to match. The fluff to tie it all makes this a PLOG I look forward to reading much more about. Keep it up!

Thanks chaps. Have been prototyping my ghost armor this week, almost ready for the undercoat. I'm very inspired by the comments xD

I sort of lost interest in making a spirit host after the first few attempts but here is the latest. He has jet to have the water effect added but I'm sort of happy with him. By the way, does anyone know of a good method of making chain ridged? I wanted to make the next one with flailing chains.

that's a cool model, 'simple' headswap and presto: insta dead-looking.Might stealing that one for a wight king.
Rest of base and painting is really nice, creepy looking hands:)
if I may add a minor suggestion?
the head (skull) looks a little small though,on that big body.More prominent on the backside picture, where a bigger skull is hanging on the cape.
is it a skull from the latest skeleton set? maybe if you got hold of the older versions of skeleton warriors, they are little bigger.
loving the green glow within it!

I never noticed until now!!! Perhaps the death process has shrunken his skull?... You know I might give the rest a human head.

I don't think you should use human heads, the skull looks great, just a tad small. a human head might take the warrior back to chaos looking again. the skull is genious in it's simplicity.so if you do more, try a TK.skull, and see if you like it.
