Hey guys! I'm finally been painting and it feels great. I want to begin to share with you my undead force that's always growing.

20150404_113410.webp Full army so far at least
20150404_113454.webp Close up on my Characters. level 4 necro, vampire, level 2 necro, and a white king (old one that a friend painted maybe 10 years ago haha) I need to work on my new white king I have a Krell model waiting.
20150404_113512.webp I have a thing for Ghosts...
20150404_113522.webp Yup a weird thing.
20150404_113615.webp my Vargy!
20150404_113626.webp My 50 man skeleton unit only about 80 more to go...

So here they are for now. This is just the begining I really want to paint the entire force close to 3500 points worth I think. Mortis Engine is probably next on my list of not core units to work on. I try to do 5 zombies and then a different model. this way I don't get too bored!

I saw someone else post this so i'l post what i have left to work on!

Army Standard
White King Krell
2 Vampires
Mortis Engine (This one scares me to start)
Black Coach
4 Bat swarms which i'll never use probably.
90 skeletons
33 zombies
38 Grave Guard
Corpse Cart

What I want to buy
6 Crypt Horrors
Varghiet
And i guess that's it unless anyone has suggestions on whats really really good that I am missing

Yay thanks guys, Yea no clue on that white king hehe I know its old ;) thanks for finding it Shade. And i love that Mordheim lady. She was fun to paint too. As for my Grave guard I may start them right after i do my zombies. I have a mix of the newer units and some Bretonian men at arms converted into grave guard. ( even though it looks like light armor they are beefy looking with great weapons)

The main thing on the mortis engine is to not fully assemble it before painting.

The ghosty swarm carrying the engine can be fully assembled and glued to the base as one chunk

The necromancer and each of the banshees should be painted separately

The reliquary should be painted separately

The front door of the reliquary cage should be painted separately.

The rest of the engine & cage (minus the crew, reliquary, and cage door) can be assembled and painted as a single chunk.

Too late already assembled haha except the banshees and the front part of the gate! So guess I got lucky not putting the banshee, necro, and front door together :) Thanks for the tips!

So Quest for all those looking. The mortis engine I am about to begin like all others I want the cloud to look ethereal. I am doing it just like all my ghosts and banshee and wraiths to keep it themed with the rest of the army. My question to you all. Normally i make all the weapons and armor ghost like too. In this case do you think it would be better to make the weapons and armor corporeal? OR stick with the theme? i feel like it would be too east to stick with the theme but IDK I'm just nervous it'll take away from the detail heh.

Here is my mortis engine beginning!!! I might keep the weapons ghostly too i kind of like it that way. It's simple but effective I think!

Lighting is kind of weird because I only have one light :)

Thanks! the top parts is taking me much time so far i have the stone base coat and bone base coat so far. also i never realized there was dirt on the underside! like the stairs were literally lifted off the ground from a cemetery of sorts SO FRIGGIN COOL! I know it's silly but I've been spending a lot of time on the underparts just because...even though not as many people will see it but it'll look sweet haha.

OH MY LORD why I never notices the detail in the stairs... did you all keep them stone painted? or did you make it real growth? I'm going to paint the flowers purple i think and the skulls and the vines a nice dark green hmmm

The bone is sadly so simple and easy Ushbati bone (Layer from Games workshop. and then a very heavy coat of Agrax Earthshade. I love the color its so quick and easy I feel like I cheated haha. But i keep my army fairly dark. you can go back and highlight with dry brush with the ushbati bone too if you wish.

All that's left is the necromancer the front gate (I almost want tt leave it off???) and the banshees which will be easy and look exactly the same as spirits below.

Sorry working a lot today! You guys make me feel good about my painting so that's been a huge plus to my motivation!
20150412_115959.webp here it is!!! no necro yet he's last i need to think about what i want him to look like. Probably a lot like my master necro.
