Needs a breath weapon. How about:

You may take up to four of these options for your Breath Weapon:

+1 Strength (Counts as one per time you choose it)
Always takes Panic Tests
Wounds on 4+

And suchlike. My muse has gone drinking, so I don't have any ideas.

Ok, here is the combined results so far:

Abyssal Terror Upgrades
The line of W’soran like to experiment with all their undead creations. Their favoured creatures however, are always the monsters they create by melding parts of other creatures together. Be it Wyvren, Dragon, Manticore or other hellish creature, the sum of the parts can prove to me much deadlier

You may choose to increase the statistics of one Abyssal Terror in your army. If this is a mount, it must be the mount of the general.

+1 S: 25pts per increase. Can only be taken a maximum of twice.
+1 WS: 5pts per increase. Each increase over the first double’s the points costs, so +2WS will be 10pts, +3WS, 20pts and so forth
+1 T: 35pts per increase can only be taken once
+1 A: 15pts per increase, Can be taken a maximum of three times.
+1 W: 50pts, no limit.
+1 I: 5pts. Each increase over the first double’s the points costs, so +2I will be 10pts, +3I, 20pts and so forth

Special Rule Options
Scaly Skin / Tough Hide: +1 to the creatures armour save. 5pts per increase upto a max of 2+ armour save.
Devastating Charge - Causes D6+1 impact hits in the charge: 20pts basic, add an additional 10pts for each strength upgrade.
Guardian - All shots or attacks in close combat must be allocated against the Terror, they can not be randomised or targeted against the rider: 50pts

As for the breath weapon, I think that should remain with the ZD as something unique to it.

I think that the Wounds on Experiments should be a fixed number (it also makes it WAY easier to point cost them). Are you thinking man sized (1 wound, like mutated Zombies), or something Orge-ish sized (2-3 wounds)??

On the AT upgrades, I think that's WAY too complicated. I'd limit upgrades to 1 or 2 points on Stats (there's really a LIMITED amount of improvements that you can make to a creature).

I disagree about the wounds thing. I personally think its fine as it is. You may be a really good unit, you might get a poor one. It's all in the fun of the game. If we point for averages it will balance itself out over games.

In regards to the AT - yes it is complicated but I see nothing wrong in that. I personally woulds love to use these rules to create my own AT, and then convert a model for it. As for your last sentence, that really doesn't apply to Necrach's. They will stitch two creatures together, mold spikes and other things on them. Basically given enough time they will create anything.

So I'm also for keeping the more complicated rules - it only applies to one AT anyway.

Much more deadlier??!!
Get your grammar right man!! Either Much more deadly, or Much deadlier.
As for the current rules, I like them. I agree that its not too complex, and I think the Breath Weapon should be kept on the ZD.

You do realise that trying to aggravate the Admin is possibly not the best idea?

Anyway, I have put in the AT rules into the first post. I think it looks like a decent list. Let me know what you all think.

I really like this addition to the Necrarch army ^^ I can see V'azrin with one of these :P

One a sidenote I think the breath weapon should be kept with the ZD as well.

Regarding the AT, IMO:

a) +1 Wounds - 50 Pts (NO LIMIT) is a bad idea (especially when combined with Toughness 6)
b) 20 pts to cause Impact hits (like a chariot) is OP... (chariots have 3 wounds, can be auto-killed by S7, have more terrain restrictions then flyers, etc)
c) Guardian makes sense vs Shooting attacks... when used vs CC attacks, maybe force it to randomize (use the shooting table) if the attacker wishes to attack the rider. (There should still be a chance to attack the rider in CC).
d) Scaly Skin upgrade cost should probably increase the more you take it as well
