okay so i have a model that comes on a 50mm base but being that im not using the GW model the one i have is much larger then a 50mm base. need an idea for how to get this model onto the base that is called for so that it can be used in play if i chose to.

There's No way that's going onto a 50mm base.

Sometimes it's possible to raise a model up and give it a bigger 'base' at the same time but that is far too large.

It may be possible to have a 50mm frontage at the front of the model (under the claw, as I think you show). This would only be a problem when it came to fitting things against its flanks/rear. Perhaps that frontage could be a magnetised 50mm square base just under that part of the dragon so that the model could be removed, but leave its gaming 'footprint' in place.

All the best

yeah the orc dragon looks so stupid, i could buy the gw dragon but ot would need alot of work and i would have to take apart the McFarlin dragon and i spend to much on that dragon to not use it let alone the fact that it looks bad ass lol

It does look awesome but they are right, without using a different base size you are going to have to use some seririous magic to keep that model upright, either that or a weighted base with a chunk of rock or iron built into the basing to drill into.

I will say however though, O&G don't have Dragons, they have Wyverns, smaller creatures with only 2 limbs, not 4, odds are thats a big part of why its such a pain.
With luck though in time they will get a new plastic combi kit and a new base size to boot.

lol, i was to lazy to get my book to look at how to spell wyvern lol, so went with the easy version dragon hahaha, regardless it looks bad lol, and not really a big deal atm would like to get it to work but atm my army does not really have any mounts atm other then a mechanical stuff so i got time to figure out whats going on with it hahaha but still would like to get it available should i want to use it

They we have 2 options, either wait till the base size increases in the next book as the new kits come out to replace the finecast Wyverns or the better option, build it into a weighted base like i sugested and possibly build a slot into a larger sceanic base for which it can slot into on a Zombie Dragon Sized base and magnetise both sides, this will look allot better and allow you to take the model out and have it stand speratly but gives a clear point on the base to measure from.
Its now in the rules that you can not be punished for modeling for things like LOS etc so you should be fine and odds are very few people outside competitive gaming will mind and those that do you can take it out of the sceanic base so no worries.
