... And, I look to you good gents and gentresses(?). I'm looking to build something: a token, a based model, anything to help me remember Fear. I have forgotten it is waaaay too many combats now. I know that some people make tokens to put next to units, but I have to admit that the table typically gets a bit cluttered with tokens already for wounds, regen, and other buffs and debuffs.

So, what I'd like is something that could fit on a base (maybe even held by a skellie or zombie), that is easily visible. I think something that would be put in the unit and takes the place of a rank and file would be best. I suppose it could be a unit filling 40 x 40 size if it is well done enough.

And, it's gotta be easily made, if at all possible. Even made from household items. Something I've considered is basing a purple or green skeleton head on a toothpick, but that might be a little ghetto.

If you have any pro tips for remembering it aside from modelling, I would welcome them and show you my sweet work out tapes, too.

I put 1 big red dice in the middle of the table, saying " lets remember all our psychology tests". Most opponents are fine with it, but I wouldn't try it at a tournament.

Just slow down your phases for a double check at the beginning. I run through a mental checklist of everything that will be triggered or used in that phase and it means I always remember my fear tests. :skull:

I just used to write 'FEAR TESTS' on a bit of paper and put it on the board where there are no models. Doesn't look very good but I remembered:)

Here's what I did. Every big unit gets one:

One buck. Dollar store.

You could always create a pen and paper check list. I've taken about 3 months off of playing, and I'm thinking about it.

After always forgetting also, I adopted the tactic of saying "please take a fear test" all the time, every combat, no matter what.
Might get a bit annoying for your opponent, especially if they are ItP, but it helps me remember.:-)

This is the only way I've found that works.

For starters, the more actively involved you are in something, the more you'll remember it. If you say it, every time, you're involving yourself more and more and over a greater period of time - you're actively involving yourself again and again. Repetition helps with memory too.

For seconds, I often run the fear-bomb kit (Aura of Dark Majesty, Fear Incarnate, Screaming Banner) on my Battle Standard Bearer, so navigating my way through my rules and the opponent's is necessary to get full mileage out of that.

For third, you can't be the only one who's forgetting. Opponents need to remember these things too and some of them are bound to have three or four editions of "take fear test when charged by or wishing to charge" to get out of their systems.

For fourth, if all their stuff is Immune to Psychology, they deserve a winding up anyway.

This is the difficulty for me! I stopped playing in 2003 and restarted in July of 2010 with the 8th edition (same as my "main" opponent) and we can't help it but take the fear test when charging or beenn charged at hehe
