In the WoC army book, there are some pictures of Daemon Princes - I personally think the models are fantastic. They haven't been released yet.

The moment I saw I did a mental flip. Multi-part kit of a monstrous character paves the way for near endless convertion possibilities. Then I heard the sour news that the mold itself had cracked or broken in some manner. Making molds is no cheap affair. Another issue I heard was the casting process had some complications.
Once it arrives I have little doubt it will be a very successful mini in terms of sales. I see myself buying atleast 2.

Unfortunately there was a huge hype for these models and now they've just disappeared in a cloud of mist over the long period of time.
Not..one...whisper of when these will come out.
Perhaps they will come out with the new Chaos Legions codices?...no?..
Or maybe the Dark Eldar ( baaad GW...
) will finally come out and be rolling around with some Daemon Princes in their new fluff. :slapface:

Anways, yes I'm pretty sure Games Workshop has these models locked up in their "vaults of frustratingly unreleased products" and are just waiting for the "right" time, much like the Dark Eldar.

I've also noticed that there are heaploads of units/monsters which don't have a model (Special characters I can understand, although it seems that it's really only the newer rulebooks which don't have models) to represent them, such as:
- Beastman Ghorgon
- Beastman Cygor
- Beastman Jabberslythe (although this is understandable)
- Chaos Warriors Forsaken
- Chaos Warriors Warshrine
Good news for beastmen though, it seems alot of designers are queing up just to get to sculpt their big monsters, especially the jabberslythe.
According to release schedules there are quite a few plastic sets coming up for alot of different armies. Who knows what the might give us. At the moment, if you believe the talk, it seems GW are trying to sync up their releases somewhat as well as a major shift towards plastic kits. Good news to my ears.

Oh, and about Daemon Princes...
They're not very upgradable in the WoC army book. I don't particularly like most of the Gifts of Chaos (although Fury of the Blood God should be a must, as they can't have magic items anyway).

I hope they steal Forge World's Dan Cockersell back from Weta to work in mainstream GW, he's the greatest. I told him so one Games Day, "You have the best job in the world!" And then he got kidnapped by kiwis. Damn those kiwis!

Actually, I've never seen a Jabberslythe in the WHFB world until this book was announced and somebody pulled out a picture of an old edition one... And I sure hope it doesn't look like that. The Jabberslythe from Alice in Wonderland (the new movie) actually looks pretty cool, although it's just a dragon with a Chinese-like dragonhead that spits purple fire...

Well the plastic Daemon Prince could be a (Chaos) God-send to BOTH fantasy and 40k players. If the price is decent, I *might* get one for my 40k Daemons.
As has been said, I can even see Giants being made out of it. With a little work I could see a DE player using it as a DoW giant.

When I read wrong kind, I though it said Wight King, and for a moment I thought that you were saying that the Wight King looks badass. How foolish of me to think that.
