I love slaanesh, i have always served him/her/it well. However, I'm feeling inclined to say that the new models coming out with Codex/Army Book Daemonica are going to complete disgrace him/her/it. The old models suited the image marvelously and they looked beautiful in a chaotic way, but the new models are disgusting and seem to me that they would be more suited serving under Nurgle. What do you guys think? Are they good or Bad?

theres one in there... not sure if its the right one.

some of them are pretty meh =\

No grace at all? As opposed to the DoomMoose/Squidface and static daemonettes?

Just take a look at this. Disturbing and perverse. Just the way they should be. Their poses are challenging and "seducing" in the manner they´re supposed to be. If you´ve seem Hellraiser you´ll know what I mean.

I think its no suprise when I say I love these minis, finally Slaanesh is what he should be not just models with as many pair of boobs as possible.

I really think the new Daemonettes are worse than the ones we've got now. I don't think they're ugly but there are just some things that put me off; the dancing hair and the old style smaller crab-claws.
I might add a few new ones to my Emperors Children army for the sake of diversity but that will be one of those things to do in a zillion years seeing the new daemons aren't compatible with the Chaos Space Marine Codex.

Im proud of you all. On all the other forums Ive looked at, the responses have been OMG THEY DNT HAVE SIX BOOBIES!!!11!!1!1!1

I like them. But mostly I think because I like the idea of plastic demons.

Well i guess now seeing that other picture may make me change my mind a little bit, but I still prefer the older ones. These ones are okay, but I would still prefer the older ones, had more grace and elegance than these ones in my opinion.

Absolutely! I think the impending Chaos range is pre-dominantely superb!

GW also seem to be looking at their older "classic" ranges for inspiration because a lot of the impending Chaos range has a real Slave To Darkness/The Lost And The Damned feel to it.

Seriously, my wallet is getting tempted. :)

I'm not sure about them anymore. The new models just seem too biker-gang like to me, rather than disturbing/perverse. They just don't feel Slaaneshi. I might get some, but I far prefer the Khorne minis

I would have to say, they feel far to domesticated. The old models had a lovely primal theme to them...

And the fact that one of them had six boobies...

And no, Nurgle is my poison, Slaanesh is by far my least favourite Chaos God. Might make me a bit biased.

They're going back to the ORIGINAL idea so this is hardly a fluffrape.

TBH the metal deamonettes were the least fluffy even if they were gorgeous.

I like both!

The first few glances I saw of the new daemonettes, I wasn't blown away at all.. but I do have to say that I do like how they look in the pic that dancey posted.. and I know exactly where you are coming from dancey.. they are very Clive Barkeresque.. they remind me somewhat of the lucidique character/figure that Clive did as part of his original tortured souls series for McFarlane toys (I have the 12 inch version of the Lucidique figure, MIB).. as well as the carmille noire figure from tortured souls II series... you can almost hear the new daemonettes whispering 'exquisite pain'... very slaanesh to me..

Wow. I've been hearing rumours for months that the new Daemonettes were going to be copies of the 5th edition ones. This is far better than anything I imagined. Still though, they're not better than the old ones. But since they're plastic (?) I like them.

I really hate them and most of the new demon models. Their hair is weird, their pose is weird and they look like they were taken from some weirdos BDMS dreamland. The musician in the background is ok though but i really need to get a closer look.

Yudas.

All hail Slaanesh although I haven't heard of BDMS...I know BDSM so BDMS must be really new and kinky:grin:

The daemonettes are starting to grow on me for the simple fact that they are plastics and easily convertible; I might unleash my full erm...perversity on them and make them truly unique.

Personally I am sad to see the old style return, the new models are terrific, dont get me wrong, but they just don't feel Slaaneshi to me, as others have noted, they would be great representing something else, but as daemonettes, just no...

I think this quote from the sculptor that helped do the Forge World Keeper captures the feeling of what a slaanesh model should be at the core:
"I never felt that the cow face keeper evoked on of the true horrors of Slaanesh...Attraction, the ability to be alien and yet still be attractive in spite of that alien-ness, if your opponent goes home and feels dirty inside from ogling your keeper I feel that we have captured the right look. All Slaanesh daemons should be bizarre and messed up, but in a way that you might still have sex with it."

I think the current metal ones embody this statement, those new ones do not, they look almost freakish, in a very cool way, just not a Slaaneshi way, it would be like Night goblins without the robes, sure you could call them night goblins, sure the models may look great, but ultimately they just don't "feel" like night goblins.

And yes, I know the new models are more like the old 5th ed models, but back then, I never felt like the models for Slaanesh matched the fluff, finally with 6th ed I felt in some ways they hit the nail right on the head (still not very partial to the boobworm or the squid head keeper though) but I was hoping they would continue in that direction for the new range

also there is one more thing to note, these new ones while, obviously freaky, don't seem to be as perverse and "nude" as the other ones, could this change be possibly to make warhammer more "PG" then it has been in the past?

Overall though every single preview of the new Daemonic range that I have seen thus far seems to be a step backwards IMO from the current 6th ed range... Oh well I guess, can't please everyone, hahahaha Im just glad we get to see previews so i can stock up on the old ones before they are discontinued :D

also... whats wrong with the 6 pack that they have on a couple of the current models, sure its kinda weird in a creepy way but, it doesnt ruin the models? Is it just a reflection of the immaturity of certain gamers on other boards?
