New Vampire Count Army!!!!!

Well first off I was inspired buy that beers vamp guy from viewing one of his kewl painted units. So took that idea of his movement trays a step further. Here is my Frozen Dead from ruins of Frost Keep!!! Though I am eBay them, but still just wanted to show them off to the fellow vamps out there!

This looks very impressive. The Grave Guard are very well painted and the Corpse Cart is a rather nice conversion. My only complaint is that the ruins still look a bit too futuristic.

My favorite part was make the balconys/platforms for the Vampires!! Gets the attention fast and looks awesome with their imposing selves viewing the battlefield!!

Some great conversions and superb paint jobs you've got there!

My two points of criticism are the red armor and the fire. The red armor looks too flat, I think it needs some darker shading. The fire is extremely flat and looks odd. The light sourcing is excellent, though.

Wow i really like how well the whole army flows,
Quick question, how did you do the glowing effects, was it a dry brush kind of deal? I personally would be really worried im going to overdo it and having the finish looking tacky, but im keen to give it a go maybe with some old models.

The army looks very cohesive. Unqiue colour scheme as well!

I have to guess that the last picture is a Varghulf? It is just me or can't I see the front/face of the creature?

In my opinion, the lighting is a bit overdone. Mainly because the torch/basket are in the same colour as the fire + the light doesn't fade when it's farther away from the fire.

The GG look superb.

Wanted something different with the Vargulf, something werewolfy, and discovered that Alpha warpwolf from Hordes. Reminded me of Underworld with the enslaved Lycan. Which is what he is, an enslaved werewolf serving his vampire lords.

SOme great pointers/criticisms on the paints jobs, I will strive to improve those for the next Vampire Force. This particular theme was my Frost Keep Vampire COunts from the cold north.

I knew I recognized that Varghulf! An Alpha, eh? Now that I think of it, there's a few similarities between a Varghulf and an Alpha....


Great stuff, though! That corpse cart blew me away. That, and the amazing freehand on the banner. IT's stuff like this that both inspires me to pick up a brush, and scares me away from it.

Overall, I love it. If I had the money, well, I still wouldn't buy it because I like something that's -mine-. Even though it's gorgeous.



Oh, and figure DoN is asking about the female Model. :tongue:
