Karl looked the dynamic duo up and down before sticking his hand down his pants and exiting the room.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

No sooner had Karl slipped out, and Kate/Markus turned away from the door, the second they turned back Mihael was standing there silently, hair over his eyes.

Before they could scream Mihael rushed up and put his hand over their mouth, then leant in gently and whispered in their ear.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

The hall grew cold, frost spreading rapidly over the freezing marble. All around the walls runes glowed as their power was challenged. Brighter and brighter they grew, yet they remained strong.

However in that time the knowledge gathered was enough, and the beast of the night found a small loophole. Not enough to escape, but enough for one its abilities to work effectively. In moment all those that remained awake fell into deep slumber, the vampires glamour potent indeed. Even the guards and Lady Jacqueoff succumbed, though the magical barriers protected them from any direct harm.

With a soft chuckle the vampire padded towards its prey......it was time to have fun.

Bastion woke with a start. For a moment he wondered where he was and he called out. Nothing came out. He tried again, yet for whatever reason he could not make any sound. In that split second of worry he came to realise his arms were twisted behind him, a thick rope binding his hands with a length trailing up to the overhead chandelier. His feet were free yet he was literally just standing on his tip toes on a chair. Finally and most worryingly he was naked.

"Ah, I have to admit, it is nice to see you awake and yet quiet," a sinister voice sniggered. It was like nothing Bastion had yet heard, and as the vampire came into the light Bastion's eyes widened in fear, "your attempt to trap me did not work either....even with your droll note." A piece of paper flicked out of the vampires hand and fluttered to the ground bearing the words Look what you've done now you ninny.

"So then, with that massive brain and ego to boot, have you figured a way out of this....?" An ugly smile crept across the vampire's faces. A foot began to rock the chair under Bastion, setting his shoulders on fire as he struggled to keep his footing.

"Do you know, twisted like that, your shoulders are not designed to support your weight?" Bastion didn't even have time to shake his head before the chair was kicked out under him. There was a sickening crunch as his arms were tore out of his sockets, ligaments and muscle twisting and tearing. Blood pooled in Bastion's mouth as he bit his tongue, eyes roving wildly in agony. With a burbling cough opened his mouth to spit it out, but before he could he felt the vampires mouth close over his, sucking in delight at the crimson liquid.

"Mmmmm, now that is good. Much richer than I expected from a scholar."

With another chuckle the vampire bit deeply into his throat and in that instant Bastion's agony was transformed into pleasure. It coursed through his body and he pushed forward, even as some part of his body realised he was further tearing the meat around his dislocated shoulders.

Feeling the man's excitement the vampire pulled back, looking down at the arousal with an arched eyebrow.

"How rude," it tutted, "though perhaps to be expected from a base animal such as yourself. Sill I think a punishment is in order....and it is time to wrap up our game anyway."

Bastion barely heard the words, the pleasure of the bite still thudding in his veins. However just as agony could swiftly turn to pleasure, so the opposite was very true. If he thought he had felt agony before, it was nothing as he felt the vampires claws rip under his testicles, thumb gouging over the top of his member. With a savege rip his genitals were torn clean off, leaving a gushing hole. Bastion bucked madly, the raw pain tearing away his remaining sanity. With a wet sound one arm was literallly ripped free, leaving Bastion flopping from one arm like a freshly caught fish.

Taking in the gory scene all the vampire did was simply stare, a wide smile across its face. Finally with almost loving care, the vampire stepped forward and carved a number 2 into the convulsing man's chest.

Tonight certainly had been fun.

***

As dawn breaks it reveals the now dead corpse of Bastion, still hung in the same postion, having bled to death. However the torn parts of his body seem to be absent.

**

A crackle of magic swiftley awakes the group, and fro the hall they can hear Anita's frantic voice.

"TO THE HALL! THERE IS STILL A BEAST AMONG US!"

From her tone and wet eyes it was clear there was a connection between Anita and the dead, and who had been the cause of yesterday's influence.

[mod]Day 2 has started.

Harland / Bastion is dead and has been revealed to be a human with the Host's Ear status[/mod]

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

A pantsless Karl stumbled groggily into the main hall. Upon a quick glance there apeared to be a heavily scarred and crusty mole hanging between his legs, but upon second glance the sight was much more gut wrenching.
" The bloody feth is goin on 'ere den?"

Seeing the body Karl shook his head, the motion of which caused the 'mole' to waggle back and forth. " Poor bastard.... But his death will uv had a point if the rest uv us can find the second monsta"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Yawning as he came into the main hall smelling of alcohol, Ulfr gazed up at the corpse of Bastion, "that is not way for a man to die, and I thought he was funny too" suddenly staring at Karl's 'Mole' a confused look on his face

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

EDIT:
As Mihael whispered to Kate she giggled cheerfully. "That sounds like a great idea to me." She whispered. "But close the door, we don't want everyone to watch."

Markus and Kate stepped into the hall feeling refreshed and invigorated after the previous night. However one look at Bastion's mangled corpse took that all away.
"By the Gods." Markus said in complete horror. "There is another vampire amongst us!" He sat down on one of the chairs shaking slightly, unable to look away from what remained of Bastion's body.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Mihael slinked out of Kate/Markus' room, still doing up the zip of his fur lined white jacket. It had a huge, fluffy hood, which Mihael flipped up to hide his face inside. There seemed to be a youthful spring to his step as he walked forwards happily, tightening his belt.

"Morning Kate, Markus, oh, and thankyou about last night" he chirped happily, walking past the dead body of Bastion as if it wasn't there.

Mihael entered the main dining room to see a distraught host and tired looking guests. This didn't phase him in the slightest as he reached inside his deep pockets and withdrew... snow white chocolate. Snapping pieces of the bar, he spoke.

"Well if everyone didn't already realise there was another vampire when Antonio said 'I'm not the only vampire you fools' you need to re-consider your education. Granted he could be lying to trick us, but unlikely in such a desperate situation.

Eiiiiiither way."
he added, kneeling down in the direct centre of the main table, taking his chocolate out and piling it up neatly.

"So who wants to hear the theory I have to catching the remaining vampires? It's pretty simple, grant you, but it should work.. even if the vampire knows about it."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Viktor entered the main hall and saw Bastion's bloody mess. Then he stood frozen, staring in awe and horror to the scene

This is nothing like I've ever seen in my travels... what brutality... he thought

Then Mihael entered the room, paying no mind to the corpse and took a piece of chocolate. Viktor looked at Mihael with a mixed expression of distaste for his behavior and amusement for his apparent inquisitive mind and stepped forward:

Although I don't like your attitude, boy... let's hear your thesis. If you are honest it will not hurt and may guide us to salvation, and if you are somehow aligned with the creatures it will be surely easy to see through the lies behind it...

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Staring at Bastion's mutilated corpse Lucien fought the urge to retch. "It appears I was mistaken twice yesterday" he said between short breaths "How could I get it so wrong?"

"Surely he can not be left hanging there? Something must be done?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Obadiah had entered the room quietly, and as he made to the table his gaze flicked around the room, taking in the body of Bastion, and everyone else awake. He poured himself a glass of water from a jug, and sat back, not quite relaxed, but pensive; observing all.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Gregor reentered the hallway before stopping, a look of shock plastered across his face.
"Sigmar..."
Queasily he made his way around the body and grabbed some water, downing it in one fell swoop and sitting down shakily.
"Only one question I can afford to focus on. Why Bastion?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Mihael looked up boyishly from under his hood and fringe.

"If you say so.

First thing's first. It is plainly obvious the only to capture the vampires is by judging on how they vote and act as a human being. There is simply no other sure way we can detect them.

Secondly, as I think was well proved last night, the vampires are clever and want to live. You may remember at the beginning of yesterday, I was confident and outgoing in my higher than average knowledge of vampires and my apparent ability to be able to find them quickly. Shortly after that I became unsure of myself and worried, and retreated into the corner.

It was this moment that I had created my plan. I had realised in that moment that the vampires were physically undetectable, and that as they could pass as humans the aforementioned way would be the only way to detect them. I realised then that the vampire would also know this and would be seeking to kill the person he thought was the most likely to discover him. If I had said this yesterday then obviously the vampire could have just made sure that didn't happen to confound me.

Either way Bastion died, and he was certainly one of the sharper ones among us.

Therefore I have concluded that whoever remains as a vampire, thinks like a human and feels sufficiently threatened not to merely toy with us. He's killing off our best.

So..."
Mihael's dark eyes looked out piercingly, surveying the room as the guests wondered in.

"Obadiah, without wishing to create aggravation, could I ask you some questions?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Obadiah seemed to reach a plan. He stood up and moved determinedly back towards the bedrooms. Turning left onto a second corridor, he stopped outside where Bastion had spend the first part of the night. The door was ajar, and as Obadiah slowly pushed it back, his gaze swept across the room. A lattice of taut strings seemed to be strung across from wall to wall, ceiling to floor. A pathway seemed to have been cut to the bed, and all around it they seem to have been broken. The bed was vacant with the sheets cast off to one side. A very large pile of what appears to be sand covered the mattress and lying on top was a small clay ball with a string coming out of it.
Obadiah pocketed the ball, before turning his attention to Bastion's long coat. He picked it up and began rifling through the pockets, but they seemed to all be empty. He breathed in, furrowing his brow, before jumping back in shock as the entire coat burst into hot chemical flames. He collided into the bed as the coat brushed one of the strings; however there was only a whirring sound from above the ceiling, followed by a clunk, and then silence. He breathed out, quickly rifled through the remaining of Bastions clothes, and then left carefully, pulling the door closed behind him.

He returned to hear Mihael speaking out to the group who had awakened. Returning inquisitive looks with a blank stare, he turned to Mihael as he spoke.

"You may ask. But I would say in response to you that I don't think the vampires think as a human, nor do I think that they are in any way more intelligent than the average human; I think Bastion's death was possibly unwise on their part. He had votes against him, and so may well have been voted against today, with a bit of help from the vampires of course. So yes, he/she is certainly threatened."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

"I doubt that it has anything to do with eliminating the sharpest minds" Lucien said still standing in awe before Bastions dangling corpse. "Although Bastion guessed correctly about Antonio, he created an equal amount of suspicion for himself. It was pure luck that Antonio's true nature was discovered. I think it more likely he was killed out of revenge for his constant pursuit of Antonio."

"Will anyone help to move his body? There is no way I am having brekfast whilst him spinning around like that. Show the man some respect."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Serethia had simply stood in the hall and stared at Bastion's corpse. Just like the day before her face was frozen and so it was hard to tell what thoughts rushed through her mind.

"Votes..? Why would we have voted for him again as thanks to him one of the monsters was killed. The vampire ended the one who was highly likely going to be safe of all voting."

With her usual frown the merchants daughter starts to scan the room, where is that damned wine.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Lyssandra looked down upon the corpse of Bastion in revulsion. "What vile creature finds the time to butcher their foe in the middle of a witch hunt" Lyssandra muttered to herself.

"Could whatever brave man who cleared up the mess last time show us the same curtesy? it would be much appreciated." Lyssandra stated in a wavering voice while raising a hand to cover her mouth as she struggled to suppress her gag reflex.

After sitting down and taking a short break Lyssandra stood up and walked right up to Mihael and enquired cruelly, "So basically what you are saying Mihael is that your grand plan to save us was just the hot air we all expected it to be then?"

Turning away and speaking to no one in particular Lyssandra raised her voice slightly. "Does anyone know the exact detail of how the vampiric curse is transferred? Is it not some kind of blood exchange? I hate to bring attention to this after we have witnessed three deaths and an assault in two evenings, but did we not witness such an exchange last night?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

"I will help move his body." Kate volunteered for once actually looking rather solemn and sad as she stepped towards Bastion's remains "Someone may need to help me though, I am not that strong." She admitted.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Gregor shakily took a couple of pastries and nibbled on them, looking queasy.
"Bastion accused Caleb and had altercations with numerous people. Caleb was just as under suspicion as Antonio and Bastion had our honourable hostess weigh in against him. Antonio's behaviour before his death was not one who knew Caleb, however..."

He swallowed and downed another glass of water before looking back to Bastion.
"Perhaps I should help lay him to rest, Marcus."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Caleb managed to rouse himself from his semi-catatonic state. He stood slowly, eyes downcast, head bowed. He glanced at Bastion's corpse and broke down, tears streaming down his face. In the midst of his cries a few words could be made out.

"...so wrong...poor man...wasn't him...doomed...all doomed...can't possibly survive...too strong...how can we..."

He fell to his knees and continued to sob quietly.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Sigmund stood quietly in his room, he tilted his head slightly hearing voices coming from the main hall.

Taking his time the knight washed up in a basin provided by the hostesses servants and changed into a clean set of clothes before buckling his sword-belt back on and sheathing his sword.

Sighing he left his chambers and headed to the main hall, stopping on his way to get a glass of water from the kitchens.

Sigmund entered the Main Hall wearing a much plainer garb than the expensive clothing he wore last night, the only remaining form of decoration being his ornate sword and the religious amulet hanging from his neck.

Stopping at Basion's remains the knight looked down, seemingly unsurprised and shook his head before joining the others.

Sitting down he sipped at his water whilst watching the guests.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Obadiah rebuffed Lucian and Serethia, frowning.

"Just so we get our facts clear, did either of you listen at all yesterday?

Serethia you can't have forgotten, but you were one of the ones who voted for Bastion to die. Or did you simply vote randomly and forget who you had voted for? So there is no way you can hide saying "there is no way you would have voted". You bloody well did!

I was the one arguing with Antonio most of yesterday, Bastion had little part in it, and was concentrating on Caleb.

Can you try to listen to our discussions today? Or perhaps this gives something away. Perhaps you thought I was Bastion when you killed him last night, which is why you are now confused?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

"Why thank you, erm.. how would you like to be addressed?" Lucien said to Kate/Marcus "Either way it is a relief to see you at least will help grant Bastion some dignity." Picking up a sharp knife from a table, Lucien balances precariously upon a chair and attempts to cut bastions ropes. "If you could just hold his feet? It would be of great assistance."

Casting Obadiah a quick glance to Obadiah "A combination of last nights drink and this mornings shock led to my confusion. Nothing more sinister I assure you."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Mihael muttered to himself as Obadiah's attention was withdrawn. Sighing and rolling his eyes, he snapped a piece of chocolate in his teeth and chewed slowly, looking Obadiah over intently. His chewing stopped... for a moment and then it continued as before.

Mihael shifted his position and patiently waited for Obadaiah to be talkable to again, starting intently at the side of his body, almost happy looking.

"So Mr Bauman... three things.

One: Tell me again who you voted for, in your own words.

Two: Who would you vote for right now.

Three: ... Why is your pocket bulging more than it was 5 minutes ago?"
he asked intently, face remaining as placid as ever as he stared out from under his hood intently.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Obadiah stared back at Mihael.
" I voted for Antonio, as I made fairly clear with my argument yesterday, and as I have said today already.
I will not say my suspicions obviously, until everyone is here, for there are many who don't seem to have appeared yet. But be certain I will be voting today.
Thirdly, it is certainly everyone's business to know, as we are all in this predicament together, so I will say, that just now I went into Bastion's room, as the vampire may have left something, and that also Bastion carried a variety of objects around, some fairly useful. I thought it would be a good idea. His coat had been completely emptied however, and all I found worth any note was a small clay ball, with some string protruding from it. I doubt it can help us, but if I get out of here, it may mean something. I don't think it is important.

But to say one thing, from my point of view here is the situation. I argued against Antonio, and he died, revealed a vampire. Bastion argued against Caleb, and now he is dead. You say that the vampires are intelligent, so maybe they are trying to frame Caleb, I don't know, I think we need to discuss it in greater detail. That is what is important right now."
