Just a quick question : When I use some of the GW washes, especially Babab Black, it leaves a very shiny finish.

Am I doing anything wrong, or is this what normally happens ?

I use anti-gloss spray varnish for dipped mini's. Would this or Purity Seal help ?

Cheers.

They make things shiny. Any type of flat varnish will take the shine away.

Many people spay on a few coats of gloss varnish when they have finished a mini. Gloss is typically harder and offers more protection. Then they cover that with a flat varnish.

And shake (?) the paint before you use it. I never recognized any shininess when I used the washes. But I heard of it, and most of the time the users didn't shake the paint before each use.

I generally give them a good shake and maybe a quick stir if they're brand new pots. Haven't encountered any shinyness, but they can sometimes be a little thin brand new without a shake.

Cheers for the help guys.

It sounds like I just need to give it a darn good shake. I never really shake my washes... I was told that you should avoid doing it as it makes it too bubbly; I guess I was badly advised !
