Just a thread for old games that you go back to after a long time and still enjoy. I have recently started playing x-com: terror from the deep. And am now addicted to it all over again. The game looks simple and rough now but the core gameplay is great and stands up to the test of time.
Does anyone else have games that they enjoy playing long after they have passed into obscurity?

I don't know if it gets a place on the Obscurity List but it's certainly there on the Classics List, and that is the original DOOM series. From the day I was 7 years old till today I've been playing those games to and from. :)

Haha I was just playing it at a mates place the other day, wow its awesome, until you get motion sickness!

One I re-discovered is the original Diablo. Thats a great game, hell it spawned a whole genre of game. Not sure if it has made it to the Obscurity list though as well.

Probably obscurity is the wrong word. I never finished diablo, but enjoyed it alot. And yes it did spawn a whole generation of games that have yet to properly equal it. And doom is a fantastic shooter with no protentions to anything clever.

I don't know if some of these class as really old, however I still play these:

Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Windwaker
Metriod Prime (all 3 of them)
Any MGS title.
Any Final Fantasy's from 7 onwards.

Original Age of Empires gold edition. Theme Hospital. Rollercoaster Tycoon.

All great games that took up a lot of my childhood :D

Legend of the Dragoon! +1. ^^ Great game.

Diablo never interested me, diablo II...however, is an awesome creation.

All the Final Fantasy games. I mean all of them. ^^

Age of Empires II is also a wonderful thing. Many hours spent beating the crap out of other historical races. And HOMM3 (Heroes of Might and Magic 3) was a family game. Me and my sister used to play Team games against 4 computers. It was fun, and a great way to bond actually.

My parents still have the old Atari 400 (16k of RAM with optional keyboard!), so I haven't been playing missile command for a while, but I do still enjoy Master of Orion 2 and the early Civilization titles.

Dune 2000 is still great for the sandworms.

I'd love to be able to get Carmageddon up and running, but I don't know how to get my computer not to laugh (choke) when I try to install it..

Does anybody know if that browser version of Master of Magic ever got going?

Baulder's gate 2 (shadows of Amn) would have to be my favorite role playing game, i think it was made in 1990. When you get past the opening dungeon id say its one of the best role playing games out there.

Hero's of might and magic 3 is such a good game, i think its far better then the rest of the series

Did anyone ever play archon ultra? I know its not the worlds best game, but i had loads of fun playing when i was younger
