So I am experimenting on using wood varnish to shade my VC army and I decide to use my Dire Wolves as the test models. They got a bit of everything I could see in the army - rotting flesh, bones, etc. Well I was not entirely happy with the coloration so I try double dipping one. Bad move. Obscured all the detail. This vexes me. I have two choices. One is to get a replacement sent to me, but since I am on a small island in the Atlantic this is easier said than done. My second choice is to try and sculpt some of the detail back in. I am pretty happy with the results - It bulked him out a bit so I guess this is my new unit champion. Comments and Criticism please.

Wood varnish, or do you mean wood stain??? If it is a varnish, good luck buddy. However, if you meant a wood stain then I would suggest going for a bit more water added to it. That is if you did get a water based stain. If you could just explain a bit more of the product and what you've done so far.

I think it can be easily fixed but it may be at the cost of repainting the model :(
