No, you misunderstand me. I was, well, at a loss for words when I saw already jokes being made. I couldn't really communicate how, well, as you say, over the top these "jokes" were, so I just put the facepalm emoticon. In hindsight, I feel it was the wrong thing to do, but I just couldn't... it's just something I've never really felt before, I'm normally able to, well, speak, I guess, rather eloquently and have quite a strong vocabulary. But this just...well, it was alien to me, this emptiness I felt. So I just put the emoticon, hoping it would convey my feeling of, not dismay, but disapproval, perhaps. I see now that it didn't.
Perhaps this is a valuable lesson for me: it is so easy to write something and for the entirely wrong interpretation to be made if the utmost care is not taken in it's composition. I guess I should thank you, for helping me to see that. Hopefully I won't let it happen again.
