ok so i played a game against my friend who played his wood elf army. after i killed his general, some of his troops started fleeing. about 2 of his regiments of archers. anyway i was wondering, since i was playing with my varghulf, and he was in proximity, if he charges the rear of a fleeing unit, does this count as an overun? we wern't to sure so we said it counted as an overun, but i'd like to hear what you guys think.

I don't have my book handy, but if you charge a fleeing unit, they get the roll and flee again (this can lead to a loophole of multiple flee rolls, which we house-ruled a "one-roll per phase" catch for). If you still have the movement to catch them, you mow them down. If not, it's a failed charge.

If you do catch them, it's not an overrun, as you're never in actual combat with them. It does, however, count for panic checks due to a friendly unit being wiped out.

ok i guess i see what your saying. although im not 100% sure, cuz i was thinking that since his unit is fleeing, therefor like not on its guard or something, whoever charges them would still mow them down since its very similar to a overun even though they wern't previously in battle. does that make sense ? :P
