Painting Competition - The Golden Bat

Roll up, roll up! Enter and the Golden Bat painting competition to be in with a chance to win glorious prizes*!!

Following on from Vulf's great Golden Zombie competition, I am proud to announce another CN competition to give you the chance to flaunt your modeling and painting prowess!

I know many of you have got many VC related pressies for xmas, so this is the perfect excuse to convert that model, or give it an extra special paint job.

So the criteria:

One entry per person.
-Model must be related to VC is someway BUT does not have to come from the GW range. So models from Reaper etc are acceptable.
-Models must be fully painted (obviously), and models conversions are fully acceptable and encouraged.
-Monster mounts are allowed

The allowed entries are as follows:
-Any VC character (inc special characters), with or without appropriate mounts
-Skeleton, GG, BK, Blood Knight - Command Group
-Ghouls, Dire Wolves, Wraiths - Champion plus two troops
-Zombies - SB plus two troops
-One of: CC, Fell Bat, Spirit Host base, Bat Swarm base, Black Coach, Varghulf or Zombie Giant.

So with the above there is plenty to choose your entry from. (If there is anything missed let me know).

The competition is open from now, and by all means feel free to post work in progress shots. Closing date is end of January 2009. A voting thread will then be put up for two weeks with the final entries.

i have to paint my whole army so ill see what i cam manage and it will be better quality then the last one.

I'll try to do it by the deadline this time, I've got a nice vampire lord in the works.

If it's ready in time, I will enter my vampire lord. Although I don't really expect that it will be ready, hopefully the deadline should help me persuade myself to speed up and at least try to complete it.

Sounds good, I've finally start to paint my converted Varghulf so should have him finished by then.

If I submit a scratch build does it have to be painted as well?

I would imagine submitting an unpainted model would seriously hamper your chances, however good the sculpt was.

It depends on the quality - however knowing Richie and his previous sculpts even unpainted they would give a good contender.

Go for it, after all people will vote for what they like.

Not bad, very over worked but otherwise ok.
Had lots of troubles finding work and planning what I'm going to do when I go back to the UK.

Been sculpting for troll forged miniatures.

I'll see if I can enter both the Vamp and the Varghulf.

Am I understanding this correctly, a sculpt doesnt have to be painted in a painting competition? Personally, I wont vote for an unpainted model in a painting competition. Seems more or less like an insult to those who actually put down the effort of painting their models to the best of their ability. Sort of invalidates their work IMO.

Having a 'Best convertion' competition would be another matter though.

I was just working on completing my first 1,000 points for a small tourney. Thought I'd enter my favorite unit so far. I definitely plan on adding more of these to build the unit, but in 1,000 points 3 of these are pretty good. Let me know if you want to see more pics. Sorry for no WIP. I was in a crunch to get painted for the tourney so I was grinding through.

Nice. What really caught my eye was the tombstone on the left wraith's base. It looks mossy and weathered.
