@Duke Danse Macabre & @Nerevarine - ty for your kind words :) The head comes from the Wild Rider champion so yes, wood elves.

The horse is the one from the finecast mounted vampire lord and the summoning book stand is the reliquary from the mortis engine with the book attached.

And as I don't like to post without pics I present to you a savage orc!

Hello again, an actual painting update today. *cheers*

So the tournament I'm entering is fast approaching (end of August) and I'm running out time to paint my army. This means I need to get my skates on, especially as currently employed full time. Lets review what I need;

Mounted Vamp Lord - Unpainted
Mounted Wight king - Unpainted
Mounted baby Vamp - Unpainted
Foot baby Vamp - Unpainted

20 Dire Wolves - 5 Painted
39 Ghouls - Painted
34 Skellies - Painted

8 Crypt Horrors - 6 Painted
12 Black Knights - Painted
Spirit Host - Unpainted

2 Terrorghiests - Unpainted

That means I have 24 models to paint, however when you consider that since 13 June I have painted 102 VC models quite doable - need to average just over one model a day.

Now for the painting pics, had a productive weekend as got the last 5 Black Knights done, first 5 dire wolves and also about 80% of a Terrorghiest painted (appolgies for the pics, my dog one was blurry so had to use the one I put on Instagram)

Completed unit of Knights

Dire wolves (actually want to do some extra stuff to them, but that can wait until army fully painted)

WIP Terrorghiest (the orange bits are gonna get done with BftBG)

As always all C&C welcome. :)

@Mad 'At ty - it is achievable but not easy.

@Duke Danse Macabre I know, I love the look of the knights but need a huge army to do lots of units. Once tourney is over gonna go back to my blood knights, just wish they were viable :(

Not got any extra planned in terms of themes tbh, doing it fairly out of the box. Would welcome any suggestions of what people think would fit though.

We can dream.

Today I added a shield to Manfred to use as my VL. I also finished my first terrorghiest, will post pics once I've based it.

That terrorgiest is amazing! Nice work!!

Some spirit host ideas - empire flaggants, old metal wraiths with scythes and hands cut off and replaced with zombie or ghoul hands (that's what mine are BTW) our getting some of the lord of the rings spirits from the army of the dead or the barrow wights.

@najo ty :D I was on about the paint job than the minis - have some ideas for the models I'm gonna use longer term.

@robtion Also ty, Manfred isn't gonna see paint till next weekend, aim is to get all the non characters done by then and use the three day weekend to finish army.

In my quest to improve my painting and also break up all the VC to prevent burnout this weekend I've been doing a couple of test models aiming to paint as well I can, a guardsman and a Grey Hunter, here they are;

Any feedback on how to improve would be greatly appreciated.

All the wolf you can wolfy wolf wolf. I'm curious, are you going to buy Logan *Santa* Grimnar?

Also, nice Geist, although i despise the GW zombies the drybrush work on that host is also excellent.

@lord marcus ty, and yes I am going to buy Grimnar, I actually love the model.

So after just under 2 and a half months I have finished my tournament army for the Yorkshire Bash - one week early :D

As such here are the obligatary pics of finished army:

@Sanai Thank you, I'm fairly happy with how the orange turned out.

@lord marcus Thank you as well, would to claim the crdit for the idea but sooo many had it before me. Took me a wee of experimenting before I got to the point where I liked the final effect.

@Mad 'At what race? Also I'm sure they will, bats are scary, fact.

And now for the pic time as I hate posting with no pic. Today I give you a skycutter chariot.

Keep the comments coming guys, I'm hungary for moar!!!

"Hello Lorthen Sea-guard, this is your captain speaking. please fasten all in-flight fabulousness to the back of the chariot, and prepare to land on that fabulous launch pad. Remember to swoosh your hair dramatically for fabulous effect"

Uhh, where do I start...?

1) Great take on the Fenrisian (Dire) Wolves, I'm very fond of those myself, and you did them justice.
2) The BK's are really imposing, and as DDM stated, truly make one want to field such force.
3) Loving the army shot, and the two TG's are just...chillin' :scared:
4) Last but not the least...Baroness Anastasia von Kocsis & Wight King Istvan...well, they just made me quote Rocket Raccoon out loud - "Oh...yeah!". They looked cool assembled, and now they look even more menacing...ready to take on anything.

Keep it up! ;)
