Hello everyone.

https://www.facebook.com/GWSalisbur...33413.73312.160755150643185/1233674300017926/

I have no claim to validate these rumours but I've seen it going around a few different pages on Facebook. It's a possibility that GW will introduce old OOP models as a "made to order" service. The 15th isn't that far off so we'll just have to wait and see. There's also no telling how far they'll go back but the thought of their older 5th and 6th edition metals coming back excites me.

I thought that all the moulds for these were destroyed some time ago. If they could bring back some older models that would be very useful for a number of players I imagine.

Well, it's a facebook link of a real GW shop, seems pretty legit.

Great news just after paying dearly for a Sartosan Vampire on ebay.... ;) Barring few very rare miniatures, I doubt GW's offer will be better than ebay and patience. Still, nice of them - if they will really do it. Maybe they understood how much income those 'last chance' actions brought them and wanted to try it some more.

I've seen an image of a list of models that are supposedly made to order come the 15th. So far it seems to only be old 40k Imperial Guard models, but hopefully it'll expand beyond that.

I've no way to verify this so take it with some salt.

Awww hell yeah! Guys I'm starting to feel month by month that we're getting our GW back! Somebody fetch me Death Holy Death or some salty old crank to pinch me because I feel like I'm dreaming!

If GW brings back the Mail Order Trolls and just re-prints and supports the same specialist games instead of wasting time and money re-working them (personal wishlist: Necromunda, Space Hulk, Mordheim and Classic Quest), then ALL is forgiven!

They seem to be focusing on Imperial Guard for now. I would imagine that they may not expand this idea, unless the initial pilot is successful, so let's hope that it is, otherwise quite a few models which may be of interest to members of this forum could end up being disappointed.

It's a fair point. Now seems as good a time as any for wishlisting? Maybe Santa's reading our lists (and checking them twice)...

It now appears as though they are going to rotate models around on a fairly frequent basis, so we may see variation in the range sooner than I expected.

The old Neferata model would be tempting, but I very much doubt that they'd make it available. I actually have a lot of undead models, ranging from Warhammer Armies: Undead all the way up to present day kits, so I actually need more new models before they start converting the kits to circular bases more than I need old ones.

Both. The modernisation of the army isn't overly necessary, but some of the newer undead models, such as the plastic Black Knight kit, look far superior to my old metal ones mounted on GW's old skeleton steeds. I really want to have all my units mounted on square bases though, in order to be able to play older editions of Warhammer with a friend, as while I will play Age of Sigmar, I do not want to commit to just playing that, hence my desire to avoid mounting units on circular bases.

I feel the same about square bases. There's quite a few people out there just selling the bases, and there's nice resin options too; all my Vampires march over a field of skulls!

I'm a fan of the old Black Knights personally, but I love the new steeds and barding. If you were so minded you could find the barding online for cheap and clip it over the old steeds, I'm doing it myself, it's a good fit.

I'm not good enough at modelling to make anything like that look remotely good, but I appreciate the suggestion nevertheless. I'd be interested to see the results of your work though if you'd be willing to post any pictures in the appropriate modelling board :).

Oh it's really easy, the barding clips over the horse body with no alteration necessary, and the metal legs just get chopped off in favour of the plastic ones modelled onto the barding! Super easy.

They were a favourite of mine back when I used to field a mixed Chaos army in 40K. These days the Thousand Sons upgrade pack is of more interest, but I can't even justify getting that at the moment.
