Pre-order the new book?

I have been looking on the GW website, and I can't see anywhere to pre-order the new book?

Does anyone know where I can do this, I must have it as soon as possible!!

Though the old ab is no longer available. I'd bet it shows up on advanced order within next week (assuming the the January release rumour is correct).

The 3rd is what I have heard though the 7th would be the very latest, Christmas hurt us in the pre order delay. o_o

they usually put the pre-orders up a week before release now on the same day the WD is released, so it should be next saturday they go up

Release dates are normally mid month, White Dwarf is the last saturday of the month, the following week is normally pre order.
Unless you don't live in the UK, then it may be different.

I heard pre order on the 7th and release on the 14th. I'm reasonably sure this was an official source, but now I can't find it.

Thats the same mate. the 14th is mid month and its on saturdays so the saturday prior is the 7th which is pre order.

I wasn't arguing, just being more specific. I think you'll notice further up the thread, someone called "Duke Danse Macabre" suggesting it could even be the 3rd

Neither was I, I was just clarifying what I said.
Also said I heard the 3rd because my thats what my store manager says as he expects it to be open then as he gets an early look for some reason but I said the 7th after did I not?

Regardless the dates are constantly in flux, the last saturday of a month is tend to be White dwarf depending if they are in a mood or change their release dates again, First Saturday is pre order and second is normally mid month ranging about the 10th to the 14th is the release day, so in this case Jan is the 14th due to the second Saturday, the dates don't matter, just the day.

I've also seen mention of pre-order for the 7th and actual release on the 14th.

I won't be pre-ordering I'll be going to my local store on the 14th anyways if there's no copies then I'll just have to order online.

in the leaked WD pictures you can see next to some of the models it says the release date is the 14th so the pre-orders should be up on the 7th, same day the WD is released like they did with dreadfleet

Can anyone say how reliable GW pre-orders are? As in; are you guaranteed the product on the day of release (assuming you ordered well in advance) or is it the usual crap of sending it the day before and hoping it'll magically arrive the next day?

Do GW have a money-back policy for products pre-ordered arriving late? I somehow doubt such a customer-friendly company like GW won't have a refund policy.

I don't know if WD subscriptions work the same way as preorders, but it seems that subscribers of WD tend to receive their copy quite late, and that it would've been a lot faster to just get it at the store themselves.

Oh I can empathise with that. My Necron release WD (considering I've played 'crons for years and been so hungry for a new book, then the WD comes late...!) arrived the day before the codex release, effectively meaning I had little idea what was coming when until the day before! Not very helpful.

Maybe I'll risk going to the local GW then... I'll be quite late though so a nice pre-order would be much more helpful...

I've always been able to make pre-orders at the store. I just give them a list of items that I want and my name and a phone number, and they'll hold it for the day. Try giving them a call and ask them if they could do that for you.

I do the same as MS. I just let my FLGS know that I want something over my phone. They will set it aside for me (usually for up to a week!! Granted, I've been a customer of this store for 15 yrs! )

Last time I asked them to hold something for me (WD with VC update/Sister Codex). I had to explain why since I didn't usually get that; then the store manager also got copies for himself!

I was talking to some GW store members, would you believe it, before the Necron release. Only internet-rumours were up, no GW stuff, and only one of the guys knew what I was on about. (And he kept suspiciously quiet when the manager was nearby...)

Well we are vastly better-informed, have a great deal more laughs, and we can share tactics and painting tips, all for the simple price of a social life! It's brilliant.

Although I'm sure they do sneakily go onto forums. The guy I spoke about said "yeah, have you seen the pictures on the internet, I really liked the-" and trailed off when the manager stepped threateningly close, before he laughed and told the poor guy it was all right. :slapface:

Anyway back to pre order and mail order.
I do this quite a bit, phoning ahead won't do it, it just means they will put the stock aside for you if they have it.
Provided you pre order on the 7th or the 8th it will arrive in store on the 13th with everything else as they will send it in addition to what the store has been sent.
I would advise going into store to order however, the few times I have seen it go wrong (not to me) the staff have given them things off the shelves and put their pre orders on the shelves when they arrived so provided your local GW is run by decent guys it will be fine.

Normally a couple days after but it is the day of the release to the store, thats why its my preference,that and I hate waiting in the house for it.
