My Legion of the damned squad :devil2:

The whole squad is converted from regular marines using skeleton bits and green stuff(all flames are greenstuffed).

First, some WIP shots

Here is the first marine. The spine and flames are made of green stuff. I also used 6th ed(backpack) and 7th ed(gun) skeleton heads

Second marine with scoped bolter.

And some heavy support

And finally my sergeant with bolter, power weapon and bionic arm.

Now the whole squad with servoskull

Little update:

I'm still working on my GB entry but sometimes I take a break to paint something little different. I got some damaged zombies in a package of bits I ordered from ebay, so I decided to repair them. Two are already completed, the two remaining are repaired but not yet painted.

I also made small unit filler(only two small bases together) which I'm quite proud of, I may post pics tomorrow.

Also, something most of Warhammer players never experience happened to me - I'm running out of models! All that remains are the two zombies mentioned above, one skeleton, almost finished GB entry and one necron. Even if I repaint my old models that deserve it, it gives me only two more models! Time to buy some new ones

And if I have time, I'll post pics of my Necron army... or maybe after I base them(have something special in my mind, but I have to acquire the necessary stuff) erv:

So I finally repaired and painted all four zombies, so here they are.

I also converted one zombie into zombie pirate. The hook is from some wh40k vehicle, the wooden leg is from zombie spear and tankard is from straw and a piece of paper.

Also, here are two flayed ones from my necron army. I just painted them. The blood effect was achieved by following my blood tutorial in my signature. The bloody thing one of them has on his claws is my hair covered with superglue, painted and cloated in gloss varnish

So I finally finished my GB Vampire counts entry! 9 and a half hours of freehand painting! But it is finally finished!

The horse body is elven Silver helm horse, the head is from unknown horse(got it from ebay bits package). Two heads trophy is from zombies bits. The skull is from 7th skeletons. Two small bags are from Space Marine tactical squad equipment. Leather stripes around horsie's butt and over the skull is from green stuff. Rider's legs are from some imperial knight. Because there was saddle modelled on both horse and rider's legs, I had to connect them to create a sigle saddle(also greenstuffed). Ride's body, head and left hand are from old undead model. Ornamental connection of rider's body and legs is also made from green stuff. Shield is chaos shield with removed insignia. Skull on shield is from 6th skeletons. Skull horns are also from 6th skeletons and are greenstuffed a bit to fit correctly. The right hand and middle part of the lance with flag is from imperial knight. The bottom part of the lance is from 7th skeleton's spear with part of blade cut off. The top part of the lance is from 6th Black knight standard bearer's lance

Awesome necrons, I love the subtle OSL on the bases! Have you tried any NMM? I think it'd suit your style better than normal metallics actually, because of your blends and use of contrast.

Thanks! The OSL on bases was really simple and quick, but I like how it turned out too I'll try to add it to the bases tutorial I just posted

To the NMM part, I have never tried it. I don't like it much and prefer metallics, but thanks for your hint

So today I bought night color from Revell. I was inspired by banshee and spirit host models by strigoi85 and I want to try it out. Here is how the color looks like:

The color has chewing gum-like consistency. It can be dilluted with water, but only small amount of water is recommended, otherwise the glow effect is rapidly reduced. Applying Vallejo matt varnish seems to reduce the glow effect approximatelly by half. The greatest disadvantage seems to be that the surface with this color seems a bit dusty. It is probably caused by the glow pigments. I'm curious about how much it will glow in night

It seems that most glow effect paints are too thick or grainy. I am kinda scared when my own fluo-paint will be gone as they still sell it but the price has become horrible.

Can you tell me what color you use? This was the only night color I was able to find on ebay and also the only one they had in the model store where I bought it.

Could it be combined with other paint, like scorpion green to give the green a slight glowing effect?
