As stated what's the most recent vamp movie you have seen? Was it good? Would you recommend it? Please discuss.

(Oddly i cant say mine; nsfw) but i did see kiss of the damned. Was intersting but a bit slow and i dont like dues ex machina endings. But it could b worth a viewing to others. Have some wine with thiz one

The most recent (actually first) vampire film I've seen was the 1991 (or was it 92? either way, the most recent) version of Dracula, with Gary Oldman as Dracula. Great film, interesting prologue and it convinced me to get into Vampire Counts (I was considering some other armies, but this just made my mind up for me).

Actually not seen any movie recently o.O

Can think of a few ...and I am so going to backhand the person who starts to rant how super-old-movie with incredibly cheesy and bad acting is the work of god himself >: ( xD

I haven't seen this recently, and it is one of the worst movies involving vampires, so terrible I was laughing all the way through  ; it was voted one of the worst movies of all time:

Attack of the Evil Space Clowns, a 1950s movie.

The plotline was that a meteorite kanded on earth from which man-eating aliens disguised as clowns emerged and attacked people.

The special effects, acting, storyline and everything else was all pretty terrible. The icing on this hellish cake was Dracula's involvement:

Halfway through the filming process, the dracula actor died. The producer's son, who'd always wanted to be an actor but never before was one, offered to take his place. Unfortunately, there was an age difference of over a decade between the former dracula and the latter, so in later scenes dracula's face was always obscured by his cape to hide the difference between the two actors. This muffled his voice and made him look idiotic in the extreme, ruining what was left of the credibility of the movie.

0/10 in anyone's book, unless you're looking for the world's silliest movies.

I'm watching Jon Bon Jovi take out Vampires as we speak...

attack of the space clowns is also sometimes, and incorrectly, titled Plan 9 from outer space. Plan 9 is even worse, but was apparently filmed simultaneously and with the same actors( if thats the right word). So the dead lead character happens again! it contains the most stupid line in any film-" He's dead- murdered- and one thing is certain. Somebody did it."

Well, weirdly enough the last vampire movie I've seen was Hotel Transylvania. All in all a passable film if you left your seriousness and rationality behind. MASSIVE SPOILERS INCOMING IF YOU CARE AT ALL THOUGH MOST PEOPLE DONT

The plot consist of the usual teenage vampire falling in love (which is annoyingly referred to as the "zing" throughout the whole movie) with a teenage guy. The vampiress' dad Dracula goes berserk due to his bad experience with humans (monsters are afraid of humans throughout the whole film) however they finally get together at the end.

Hardly original, soppy, vampires are ONCE AGAIN the cuddly objects of love and desire though it WAS fairly amusing imagining Vlad vonC or Abhorash being somehow teleported into the movie and the ensuing carnage.

The film redeems itself though by blatantly mocking Twilight.

Aside from Dracula, any of you know an actual DECENT vampire film? Something with non-sex-obsessed vampires or just general silliness? Vampires that resemble the Warhammer world vampires (which, however much I dislike GW, I must say they got quite well)?

Seen both.

Blade is a bit too much mindless killing for my taste and the vampires seem almost as weak as the humans with one or two exceptions.

Underworld is hands down the best vampire film I have seen set in a modern setting. The vampires ooze badass-ness, it is not overloaded with fighting scenes, has a better than average lore and Kate ....yeah.

How about films with folklore kind vampires? Or just not in a modern setting?

Blade and underworld share one thing.

After each movie they trade what little plot they had for ( at imes ) mindless jokes and mindless action.
Action is fine but god that should be no excuse to toss away the plot all together :(

Edit:

Forgot to bring this up but "Let the Right One In" is a fucking creepy butt vampire movie O_O Swedes are weird.

True dat!! The first ones were good but after that, nothing. Van Helsing wasn't terrible. I'm no movie critic and I'm very accepting of most movies I see though, so my opinions on films aren't worth a whole lot lol.

Also I do mean that.

DO NOT WATCH that movie if you got weaker nerves or such. It is very...yeahhh.

Wife and i watched dark angels 2. WARNING nsfw. Tried hard to b serious despite its industry origins and had a fairly decent plot, set design, costumes, and props. Color me surprised. And it made the wife more.....actionable shall we say.. so that was a plus.
