So I had a debate the other day, as the BRB states you can never go over 10 of one characterisitc

My vamp had 10 attacks (5 + sword of bloodshed + beasts spell +3 attack, but only gets + 2 from that due to 10 attacks max)

But when red fury came into effect, my opponent claimed I cant have those attacks because im going over the max, I said red fury means I get to make extra attacks, not add them to my profile.
Staff also agree with him, they say you can never make more than 10 attacks unless its a random number of attacks?

Is this true? Can red fury really not allow you to make 20 attacks if you wound and kill 10 models? and then add the extra 10 attacks

I would agree with you since it isn't the profile that gets the extra attacks you simply get to strike another attack for every wound. I could still be wrong of course but I'd say that you get your extra attacks.

The cap is for characteristic , not for the number of attacks a model can make per turn.
Also red fury is not a characteristic modifier.

It isn't a characteristic. It isn't capped. So it shouldn't be an issue. Personally, I don't believe the spell effect should be restricted either, since it isn't a characteristic, it is a temporary effect. But I've only been playing 20-odd years, what do I know!

I think I'd cap off the spell effect at 10 because it does grant you a bonus to your characteristic. It may not be permanent, but it is a characteristic increase. Unlike red fury of course...

also if you play with a vamp with the sword of anti heroes and redfury, and say you come upon a goblin unit with 10 characters, will you get 14 attacks at str 10, with redfury giving the additional attacks from each wound made.??:konrad:

i know that stats are capped i just remember something somewhere saying this does not apply to attacks...... it might just be wishful thinking :devil2:

Apparently the cap doesn't apply to Daemons. The FAQ says that Dark Insanity will allow the Bloodthirsters attacks to go above 10.

What about the Chimera? 4D6 attacks capped at 10 sounds pretty limp.

No, the chimera's attack chatactistic is 4d6, the result of the 4d6 are his attacks. There is a difference between attack charactistic and number of attacks. This is also the case with red fury.

As the attacks are not added to your profile and neither are they made at the same time any amount of attacks due to red fury are allowed regardless of the total number it allows you to make in that combat phase, its just your foe being picky when he is getting his arse kicked.

The daemon dark insanity rule replaces the attacks characteristic with 2d6 +2, Making it the random attacks rule.

And the chimaera example is the same.

Chaos spawn movement also applies :)
