So I haven't found anything about this anywhere which leads me to believe there's a very simple answer somewhere I haven't found, I kind of hope that isn't the case.
I was locked in a challenge with my combat vampire lord a while back and managed to kill my opponent without having to use my red fury attacks. I believe he had 2 wounds, and I did 3.
Now I was about to go ahead and roll my red fury attacks for the purposes of overkill to mitigate combat res when my opponent and really all of my gaming club told me I could not since my opponent was already dead and therefore I had no one to attack.
Since Red fury is still made during your initiative turn, I figured he'd just keep on pilling on wounds for the intimidating overkill, but I also kind of agree where they're coming from.
And if I am right, I suppose the next part to this question would be would I get 2 more attacks or 3? I can't technically do more wounds to him than he has, but I did cause 3 unsaved wounds.
In case anyone is wondering, this did cause me to lose combat and crumble away my general so I was a little conflicted over it as the extra overkill would have assuredly kept him alive.
Anyone else been in a similar situation?
