Hello everyone ...
I started with the vapires a few month ago and a friend of mine donated me about 100 old Skletons ... I tore them apart and glued them together again in different poses ... repainted them and here are the first results :-)

Some of the "green slime" is still wet ... (the last row, the standardbearer and the base) when its fully dried it will look a bit better :-)

I will try to keep you updated. :-)

Ps: I haven't written some english texts for quite some time, so sorry for the mistakes :-)

Edit: The text on the standardbearer is german and means "Honor", I thougt it is quite funny, if the Standard hasen't been rewritten by the undead, so all standards will have text which would have inspired the living ... but now it is more a burlesque (?) to the undead hordes :-)

Nice :p Love it.
What did you use for the slime?
Can't wait to see swamp zombies or swamp ghouls or swamp black knights or something :p
Perhaps a fenbeast as a varghulf?

great bases!! They look really great.
The only Think I would do is to add more highlights for the skelies so that they could more stand out from those bases.

regards,
sea.man :konrad:

The slime is a mix of:
- glue
- static gras (not sure if this is the correct english term)
- flock (term? -> this seems to be very similar http://www.gf9.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=36&products_id=350 )
- light brown pigment
- green pigment

I am planning to build my whole army in this marsh theme :-)

I wanted the skelettons to look very dirty. So I did not make some bright highlights. So the army looks more like it is currently rising from the deep.

edit: how can I change the flag. I didn't find it in the user control panel :-)

Very nice, and a very clever theme. Undead from the Marshes of Madness! This is a take on undead that I don't think I have seen yet, so props to you... it is a very original idea I'd say.

Ewww they look positively disgusting with all the green muck on them. Will be great to see a whole army themed this way but I guess it'll take you a fair amount of time.

Simply a bunch of awesomely realistic looking swamp wading skellies. I'd be interested in seeing how you're going to solve the vampires. I'd love it if they were covered in slime as well and perhaps the tattered robes of the Corpse Cart necromancer?

That is superb. I have never seen such effective slime like that, they really do look like they have crept out of a marsh. Fantastic job xd

Your English is fine by the way, so don't worry. In regards to your flag, it is automatically generated by your IP address, so the only thing I can assume is that you are routing through a server in the UK?

Beautiful work on those guys. Top notch!

If I can make one suggestion, add a little bit of the slime gloss with a haze of green to the skeletons on their lower bits to make it look like the slime is sheening off them as they emerge.

Great work and very original!

Cheers,

Jake

Wow... i didn't expect so many responses ...
Thanks a lot :-)

@Disciple of Nagash: That would be a bit strange ... but I don't know for sure how the internet works here @work. I can try to post form my pc @home the next time

@mrsaturday: Why do you think the Regimentbase is unwieldy for gaming? It isn't much bigger than the ones from GW. (Here are some of them WIP (german board where I post :-)

It took about one Month to finish the whole regiment. I hope to finish one Regiment every two month (I also have some other tabletop-related projects :-) ) ... so there will be updates :-) This was also the second test-unit. I have to rework the first unit and after that the first unit of grave guards will follow :-)

Hi Batrachian. It's not a huge deal, merely that it is slightly irregular and a bit larger. It really depends on how picky your opponent is (and I've met some picky ones) about the movement tray size in relation to the unit sitting in it. I wouldn't not model up a base for that reason, however. Personally if I was playing you and you had a whole army as detailed as that unit I'd be only delighted to play against you.

Hi there ... here comes an update...

I just finished my Grave Guard...

Next in Line are 10 more Skelletons and the Varghulf... They will be finished end of next month. :-)

OH Good Lord.

This is freakin' fantastic, and a wonderful bit of motivational work on my own dear Lahmians. I'm looking at the bases, and I'm starting to think if I should incorporate such panoramic views on my own models....

In that last picture, the detail shot, you have a skull coming out out of the Bog. Brilliant! The amount of attention you've put into the detail is mind boggling. Bravo, Sir!

Thanks for all the feedback. I really enjoyed painting these guys... but it was a horror to build them.
Ich wanted to have dynamic and living poses, but since they all have the same Feet (all of them have their right leg in front, so if you build them regualry, they look to much "marching" less crawling how I like undead) (This sentence it a bit odd, I hope it makes sense... I don't know how to express this correctly in english. :-) )

Did you hollow out the base to make it look deeper?
I have Magnetfoil under the bases and cut holes in the Plastic Bases. So the resin water stays in the holes. :-) And the wohle Ground looks very uneven.
Here is a wip shot of the next regiment, where you can see it. :-)

Hey, thanks for the image...

That what I had in mind, when I first build the tree.
The "tree" regiment is already finished, this shot was only one of the best, where you coult see the bases.

The swamp lichen (hooray learned a new word :-) ) will be the same as the one the other skeletons already have, only a bit longer.
