I normally prefer to play bigger games of warhammer around 2k or more so scaling down to 1k is feeling kinda like a challenge.

My premise of VC is that they have a need for a good magic phase to stick and also a tough general so they dont crumble.

Trying to fit in a good caster and something hard to kill seems kinda awkward for me so iv given it a go and would appreciate some C&C.

Lord, flayed hauberk, sword of battle/might
Banshee
Banshee
15 Ghouls, ghast
19 Skeletons, FC, flaming
Terrorgheist, infested, rancid maw
Total = 995

So hows this look???

The lord should be pretty tough for such a small point game, the banshee are hopefully there to kill highly armoued foes such as knights and chaos warriors etc same with the terrorgheists scream, and a basic set of core, the skels are simply so i have at least one banner in case of that random banner capture scenerio.

Much thanks for reading and look forward to comments

I think you should have at least 20 ghouls in that unit, if i were you i would drop 1 banshee and increase the size of the ghoul unit, and give the vampire lord dread knight & maybe the tomb blade, then put him inside the skeleton unit.

Or if you drop the Vampire Lord and exchange it with a normal vampire and drop 1 banshee as well that leaves you with 200 points over to do what you want with, as long as you increase the size of that ghoul block i think it will work out just fine!

Banshee's are too chancy. On average, they do nothing. With a good scream, they'll knock of a wound or two, so they're good against units that losing a wound or two really hurts.

I definitely would not give the lord Dread Knight, as that negates his look out sir rolls. He'll be easily hit by any artillery.

I agree the ghoul unit needs to be bigger. Drop one banshee, possibly both...

The terrorgheist; is it really necessary to have poisoned attacks with S5? I'd likely just have it vanilla and use the points somewhere else. Core needs some strengthening...

That is correct, stick with the flayed hauberk!

I'm new to warhammer and vampire counts, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Lord illegal seeing as you're only allowed 3 characters at battles under 2000pts and no lords?

No; the Vampire Counts book was written for 7th Edition warhammer rules, which had characters and lords 'slotted'. So at 2k-2999, you had 1 lord. 3k, you could take a 2nd.

In 8th edition, they changed it so that you could spend no more than 25% of your army list on Lords, 25% on Heroes, you MUST spend 25% on Core, no more than 25% on rare, etc.

There is no character limitations; just point limitations.
