Hope those are better. I think they are a little bright, but I'm still getting to use this new camera.

And there is the Great Nightmare in all it's full-color glory.

I haven't been working on my VC recently as my Chaos Space Marines have taken precedence right now. My local GW closed and had a big sale so I walked off with quite a few of the power-armoured freaks and have been working feverishly to get them all done. That, and I have taken up painting-for-pay for some of the folks around my Gaming club. I may post pictures of these things in the not-too-distant future but I also hope to finish Vekarin (Finally!) at least by the end of the summer.

Don't worry, I am watching the your armies progress, Victarias looks excellent, especially interesting after reading about her in the TVC. I'm lookcing forward to seeing the completed Vekarin as well.

Still new on the forum, but I have taken the time to look throughthe froum almost from start till buttum.. and I love your work.. I am starting a VC army my self, and was thinking about purple.. now i am forgetting it as I can't match your skill..

keep up the greath work.. wating and watching for more up dates..

just out of interest, are you using the gw gloss varnish? a lot of my models have a similar kind of sheen to them even in a low-ish level light because of it :)

and i like what your doing with the purple, my attempts with it have been less than succsesful so far.

No, I do not use varnish. It is probabble that the ridiculous flash on my camera is causing this strange sheem, but they aren't really shiny in real life.

Just a teeny tiny update, but I finally finished Vekarin's base. Obviously I have been obscenely lazy over the past few months and this is all I have accomplished. That, and I'm having trouble with some of Vekarin's little peices, so that promise of finishing him before summer's over is now null and void. Well, at least I finished his base, which I spent a great deal of time on as Vekarin is to be my centerpeice model to he's got to have a wonderful base. I'm also using this as a sort of testing grounds for the correct lighting and ink-washed I plan using for one of my '09 GD entries.

Thanks for the comments, I hope to have more models done soon.

So you're entering Golden Demon, eh?
Well Anyway... the skellie with the shield looks as if he's resting on the ground, and not raising out of it. It might be a bit late to say this as you have it all painted up, but better late than never o_o.

It's a great start. How are you going to make sure there is variety in the army? Me personally I have found using the 3 main colors is great. Have you thought about taking another few colors and using them to highlight each unit? I will say, at the same time, using the same color and not painting a unit bright yellow, will give units you want to get in combat that chance.

Point being: I had watched a friend paint his slann yellow and the rest of his army a dull green. Every match I watched he would lose his slann no matter what was magic/armor/enchanted item was on him. However, when he painted the slann the dull green the rest of his army would suffer but much less so on his Slann.

Good luck with the rest of the army. Keep it going!

Whoa, I haven't posted on this in way too long!
Sorry for all those who actually watch this log and were extremely disappointed when I didn't post on it in months before subsequently deleting it from memory because of the failure of it's painter. Well, I have some news:
I finished Vekarin.

After a brief respite from painting long enough for me to send several weekends beating people with fake swords built from everyday plumbing supplies, a deficit of super glue and receipt of the new Warhammer 40,000 starter set, I actually finished painting this massive model!!!! Took me long enough.

Anyway, bask.

I would suggest starting with a really dark blue. Just a little bit will go a long way.
