Season of the Dead - The Crimson Court

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
I don't know how I missed those up until now. Good work. And the centaurs, especially the champion - top notch! And another advice about bases that I think works is to make some height differences, some small hills and whatnot - you have space for that and makes thing much more interesting - if the model allows for it of course ;) Nagash doesn't like hills on his base for example xD They're easily made with milliput or even plasticine if you're determined ;)

Again Long overdue update incoming ><

First up is my Wight King Battle Standard Bearer. Kit bashed from left over parts but he turned out ok. Karn, Unholy Beacon.

The stonework on the Mortis Engine looks very nice. I assume you'll enter it into the painting challenge =)

If my eyes don't deceive me I think the stalagmite you found is from the Night Goblin Fanatic box. Never did figure out what it was intended to look like myself, but it sure works as a stalagmite.

@Mad 'At Thanks =D and yep that's the plan, if i manage to finish it on time but i think i'm on track. As for the stalagmite yes i think you're right. I'm not sure from where i got it but i had around 2k goblin army so it's probably from fanatics =D turned out ok with Krell =]

@Farmer7574 Thanks =D glad you like them! those are blue roses. have got the same on one of my necromancer's scythe and with some gravestones (can't remember which models though) Great detail on the stairs, shame it'll be mostly hidden by the sides and the necromancer's robes.

On a side note, more progress on the ME, will update tonight :)

@Eyeless Cool, some WIP would be great to see :)

I picked up a ME kit a few months back and haven't really taken a look at it yet. The details on the stairs look great and you've done a good job painting them. Not sure how easy it would be but perhaps consider making the Corpsemaster removable by basing him - that way you could use him as a foot-slogging Necromancer and a ME Corpsemaster.

@Farmer7574 Was thinking of that actually. gd idea but i don't know if i'll be able to do that as i'm trying to finish it for the painting competition and got a lot of work to do on the base :c

It seems it got busy lately ;] First thing first, the mounted standard bearer turned out really cool. That banner, that is from that Von Carstein 'upgrade pack'? Krell with tha weapon also looks terrific - maybe you could experiment with some blueish highlights on his hands, as if the weapon itself is glowing? Just an idea ;) The ME also looks promising. I wish you luck with finishing it on time

@Borgnine Yep it has, and it got even busier with the ME :p altough i might take a couple of weeks off painting after i finish it. Glad you like the mounted WK and yep that's the banner. Got that pack on a purchase as i needed last few pounds for free shipping :P Still need to find a use for the shields though. I love Krell :D i need to try something like glowing blue effect as i have some units that would look better but i need to test it first, then replicate on everything.

ME almost finished. Still need to do the necromancer and 3 banshees and the base. but i think it's doable :P

I saw this in the painting comp, some great extra photos here. Good work, the Mortis Engine is a tough paint and yours is excellent.

It really is a great model. It includes all aspects in my army so far; green flames, black bones for constructs, blue ethereals, rust and metal work, gray stonework, blue roses, red cloth for the elite units and the base.

@Farmer7574 looking forward to see what you can come up with :D seems like a great scheme blue and brown.
@Borgnine that the stirland mud texture paint. works like a charm on anything i tried thus far.
@Leithel Thanks =D i think it's my best model thus far =]
@Mad 'At Cheers. ever since i saw that model i knew i had to give it the impression it's taking off something and with my current basing theme a crag with stalagmites at the bottom sounded too good to pass up. First time working with cork and i really like the result.

Hey everyone! Been a while since an update so here's what i've been up to after the mortis engine. first i took a small break from painting and tried my engine out in a game =D then i did 10 grave guards to bolster my unit, had another game and started working on a necrotect. Will post details below =]

So first things first, after a quick holiday break i had a game against Dark Elves. Huge game with 85 models each using the Clash of Empires battleplan from warhammer world with house rules of measuring from bases and alternating turns. Since i had a lot of wounds more than him he was the underdog with 3 points. We had to capture 2 objectives, 1 being the large monolith on his side and the sacrificial altar on my side. Unfortunately i do not have a full battle report but i've got a couple of pics =] Was a close game but i won it with 6-5 points. That massive skeleton spearmen block did the trick =]
