Hi folks,

I've just about finished my Blood Knights. I've avoided the traditional red theme in keeping with the purple theme of the army:

There were so many molding errors on the horse's armour on the rear of the standard and musician that I deceided to fasion some extra cloaks for them to cover them up:

I really wanted the Kastellan rearing up high on his steed and accidentally snapped him off the stand so added some extra scenery beneath to support him:

I don't have a paintlog actually but may start one up soon. I recently painted up my Realm of Battle gameboard so might dust my army off and take them out for a parade and a photoshoot

seeing some great work here and while I really want to add some Blood Knights to my army.. the price is just plain stupid.
So a conversion of those Dragon Princes seems like a very cool way to make them.
To be honest I was first checking if I could make them out of Chaos Knights but now I know that those Dragon Princes fit the picture so much better.

Yes the only way I could get the champion's horse to stay rearing up that high was to support it with some scenery; hence the tombstone and branches.

Here are mine. I bought them because i didn't really like the actual Blood Knights, plus, these were 20 euro's cheaper I just don;t like the banner, zo I'm gonna re-do it one day.

These are my Blood Knights. I used I think some Empire Knights for them (my friend plays Empire and when my Vampire defeated him felt that this unit fought honorably and decided to give them all a "kiss"). My theme is Winter Wasteland Battlefield.

It really is a shame that there are so few entries in this thread. Blood Knights seem very, very cool to me and there was no question in my mind that I'd be using them in my army. In fact, they're really the only Rare choice I like...


That said, my own Blights turned out less wonderful than they deserve.The only part of the paintjob I'm really satisfied with, and the only part I really enjoyed painting is the banner (those two facts are directly related). My Lord's symbol is an eclipse, but until now, I've not really had anything to paint it on (The banners of most undead units are pretty crappy, to be honest. Tatters and rags, if that!).

The banner is truly awesome! Is it a existing one, or did you model it? The paint job is obviously nice, but I still don't like the HE conversions Unaffected by this, the unit looks great and brutal:Vampire1:

Thank you both!The banner is the one that comes with the plastic Dragon Prince kit. (See also, post #15 of this thread.) Unless you're asking if the design is moulded on, in which case no, it's Freehand.

I thought this was the "show us your Blood Knights" thread not the "Show us your Dragon Princes of Caledor" thread?

I find it rather amusing when people post pictures of Dragon Princes saying they are Blood Knights, when they are clearly Dragon Princes. Not only do they not use the actual Blood Knight models, they don't even bother to convert them, and just rely on a red paint job to make them look like vampires.
