Great job on the board Akiro! I recently ordered one for myself and can't wait to set about painting it.

Anyway.. I've spent the last few days painting up the Garden of Morr. Here it is:

It makes a great backdrop when photographing other minis:

The painting is a little rough in places but the overall effect is suitably grimy.

Now, back to my Blood Knights..

Looks great Tawg. I am currenlty working on mine and have yet to decide how to go about doing the roofs of the buildings. Care to share how you handled it because they look great!

I actually quoted Sorastro, the image is of his piece; Although I'm sure he can read this and answer for you just as well. :pumpkin:

Thanks Tawg...paying attention is not something I am good at. So Sorastro if you dont mind....how did you do the roof and your gates. They look soooooo good.

Thanks Redcard.. sorry for not replying sooner; I've just had a couple of crazy days at work.

The roofs were pretty simple really.. being very flat I couldn't think of any creative way of shading them. The blue-ish roofs were base coated with a mix of Fenris Grey and Necron Abyss, and the green roof was a mix of Knarloc Green and a little Hawk Turquoise.

I put a dark wash of some kind (Badab Black perhaps with some Devlan Mud) into the grooves and cracks, although it doesn't show that strongly.

I used a large brush to add a very dry brush of Rotting Flesh - really dragging the brush over the edges of the little tower thing to add definition.

Finally I added the bird poo with slightly watery Rotting Flesh and a small brush.

The gates (and all the other bits of metal) were just a base coat of Chainmail (I usually use Boltgun Metal but thought I'd try something different) followed by a wash of Badab Black then several washes of watered-down Bestial Brown. I added some Scorched Brown to the last wash to darken the more concentrated patches of rust. Finally I added a sparing drybrush of Chainmail to some of the edges of metal where I wanted to be more of the metal to show through the rust.

Happy painting!

That is definately the worst thing about playing WHFB over 40k.. terrain just becomes cumbersome when it looks awesome :zombie:

That thicket would give you hell trying to move though it! Although obviously it'll just be taken off board till there is free space.. it's just a shame things can't work out better, ya know?

What are the Voo-Doo evil stick/warning pole things from exactly? Did you just make them yourself?
