Some really great looking Vargulfs. It's great to see the variety. I'm finding that these threads are offering some cracking inspiration to many, myself included.

@Sorastro - Can I ask what influenced your palette choices? I really like the earthly, natural and almost monochromatic feel to the model.

Thank you. I chose the skintone first based on the idea that a Varghulf is essentially a bestial vampire that got out of hand, so I painted his skin using the same tones as my other vampires (Hormagaunt Purple mixed with a little black for the base coat, then highlighted up to Rotting Flesh).

Black then seemed the obvious choice for the fur to contrast against the light skin. I then wanted a natural, leathery look for the wings but also added Rotting Flesh to create the highlights to tie the colors together.

He matches the rest of the army quite well as the whole army has a somewhat pallid scheme featuring both the Hormagaunt Purple and Rotting Flesh tones.

Thankyou. I'm glad you like my Vargulf. The shin tone is bleached bone with a brown ink wash. I then used pallid flesh to lighten it in two thin layers.

GRRREMLIN I like the blue around the eyes, kind of looks like a baboon or something (in a good way). This guy looks like he could hang out with my Varghulf, though mine prefers to snack on elves.
