This is my Varghulf. It is based on an Abomination of the WarCraft universe. Most of you will recognize the body of The Great Unclean one, used a sh*tload of greenstuff to make all sorts of things ( enlarging his shoulder, the big blade and making the little arm). I wanted to have a single head, but I didn't have one big enough ( I did not had O&G Giant sprew at that time) so I used 3 Ogreheads to make the 'head'. It's not the most beautiful piece I own ( since I'm not very good at converting) but it is fun to have running around on the table ^^

After seeing Infernal Skull's absolutely brilliant Varghulf, I wanted to give it a try myself. All credit to Infernal Skull for the idea... I just wanted to play with one ;)

With my complete lack of experience here's what I was able to do. Chopped up the pewter figure I had. Took Crypt Horror legs and used wires & nails to make a frame, then greenstuff to fill in the cracks. Getting him to stand up, while leaning forward was a pain.

In base-to-base, he towers over the other models. He's pretty tall too, so it really takes focus from my other varghulf while they shoot at this one

Looks like the one in a certain youtubers videos....:perv:

Awesome model man! :konrad:

Just wanted to say that I am very taken with the warcraft style Abomination there Elbisreaver - I may have to steal some of that as an idea for one of my own :)

Hi everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster.
I've not really been playing warhammer for a while, but have been getting back my urge to paint up my undeads. So I started with the Varghulf, which is a model I've always loved, and I thought I'd share it, as the pictures posted on these boards are a big reason why I've gotten my urge to paint VC back.

Great stuff here, I particularly like the "extended wing" conversions, which are now on my list of things to try...

This is my Varghulf. It is also the very first completed miniature in my revised VC army! All I did was pull it off the old base, hack the excess metal around the feet away, and stick it on a new base (and a little bit of paint touch up).

The base is actually the "important" part of the army - this is a resin copy of a base I designed, and the whole army will be based on the same theme.

Nice, you know, if you feel like carrying on with your army painting, starting a Plog (Picture log) over in the Dead Shall Walk is always a great idea, plenty of great painters around there, and plenty that comment fairly regularly too. But I totally agree, this place makes you want to get things done :pumpkin::pumpkin:

Nice, I have never done any resin casting, it seems a bit involved, but I imagine it's nice to have a renewable/reliable set of bases ready to go :pumpkin: The base does look quite well; And I like the Varg's eyes, although the membrane between his wings seems a bit dull. Did you consider adding the base colour (Or something slightly lighter) over the very deep recesses/cuts in the wings to make things stand out more?

I see people here are gettong really creative with their varghulfs - both the 'extended wings' versions and the more untypical ones great. I think vg is great for this - his statline and rules makes it kinda easy to make many many things 'count as' varghulf.

This one's mine, this time the normal, unaltered GW one.

I have also plans to make one using undead werewolf from reaper - but that's for another time. One varghulf will do for now ;]

Soulseeker... holy smokes... the only other VG on that level of awesome is the the one by CurseofBeers, but the reasons for awesome are totally different.

Just wow.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I love this model, I don't think the pose is awkward, though I guess he is no beauty. To me, it's a huge bat mutation, it crawls around the battlefield because it can no longer fly. Have you ever seen a video of a bat walking? I don't know if linking to youtube is okay, but watch this, then look at the varghulf pose in a new way.

He might be ugly, but for me, he is the king!

If this guy ever gets on the table, it'll be as a vargulf. I was glad to see there was something sort of fitting for a big Ogre/Monster sized base that I can use him as, since I love the figure. :)

Now THAT is original. Any idea who makes that model?

It's from GodSlayer by Megalith Games

He did great on his first outing this weekend. Destroyed a Rat Ogre, broke the unit, and destroyed them on pursuit. Which caused a panic test on the nearby stormvermin with General, which they failed. The cascade effect won me the game all in one turn.

That guy STAYS in the list. ;)
